My impression is that McCool's inquiry was directed at finding someone or some institution who had *records* for this cemetery, rather than the actual tombstone listings which, I believe, he had already located. In his query, he wondered if Salem Baptist Church or Salem United Methodist Church might be the overseers of the cemetery and have records for it. Does anybody know who is currently responsible for burials at Salem Cemetery and if they have any records? If they do, maybe those records show who arranged the burial and what relationship they were to the deceased, or perhaps more information than is written on the stone.
