Transcribed by Gloria Riley Submitted by Gloria Briley Mayfield, Rusk County TX Coordinator Ruben Gage was born February 10, 1770 and died in Saline County, Arkansas, October 31, 1844. He married Abigail Burleson, born in 1772 in North Carolina, daughter of Rachel and Aaron Burleson, and died in 1865 in Bastrop County, Texas. The Gage children were: Matthew, born in 1793 in Haywood County, Tennessee; Moses, born in 1795 in Fayette County, Tennessee; David A., born in 1796 in Haywood County, Tennessee; Burleson, born in 1804 in Tipton County, Tennessee; George Washington, born in 1806; Jonas, born in 1808 in Tennessee; Calvin, whose date of birth is unknown; and Samuel Patterson, born in 1801 in Tennessee. Samuel Patterson's first marriage was to Polly Sneed in December 1819 in Madison County, Alabama. His second marriage was to Susan Nelson, born January 30, 1809, in South Carolina. She had moved to Georgia and then to Alabama, where she met and married Samuel Patterson Gage in 1846. It is presumed that she is buried in Shiloh Cemetery. The children of Samuel and Susan are: Charles, born in 1844 in Alabama, and Columbus R., born in Rusk County, Texas, in 1848, died April 27, 1918 and is buried in Gage Cemetery. Columbus married Amelia Parker, who was born in 1836 and died June 4, 1893 and is buried in Shiloh Cemetery. The children of Columbus and Amelia were: Alice, who married Jerry Allen; Bloom, who married William Henson; Edward Patterson, who married Lou Tishie Flanagan. Edward Patterson was born December 12, 1882 and died November 25, 1972; Lou Tishie Flanagan was born March 26, 1892 and died December 27, 1971. Chap married Willie Davis; James Hogg married Noma Swinney, Dellia married Rube Barker; Susan Rebecca married Paul McWhorter; Glessie married Cooter Shipp; Elizabeth married Arthur Harvey; Columbus Mills married Beulah Long June 6, 1918. Columbus was born July 7, 1878 and died October 26, 1972. Beulah Long was born June 29, 1901 and died March 9, 1962. Children of Edward Patterson Gage and Lou Tishie Flanagan were: Edward Eugene, born October 10, 1915, who married Priscilla Walker August 30, 1940. Priscilla was born March 30, 1917.
