    1. [ARSALINE] RUTLEDGE THORNTON d. 1883
    2. RUTLEDGE THORNTON was born 1834 in N.Y. and came to Illinois with his parents at 1 yr of age. In 1880, he is listed on the census as a hotelkeeper in Benton, living with his wife Mary (SCOTT). Their daughter, Alma, was born in 1881. Rutledge died 23 March, 1883 and is buried in Old Rosemont Cemetery, next to his wife and her 2nd husband, Frank HARTRY. I've been unable to find any info on his death - too early for death certs in Arkansas, the local paper hadn't started up yet, and I read that this cemetery's records were stolen some years back. I received obits on his wife, her 2nd husband, and his daughter Alma HOLLEMAN from the Saline County Library, but they didn't have newspapers from the 1883 death of Rutledge. Does anyone have any suggestions where I might try for an obit or any info on his death? I'd appreciate any suggestions - I don't know where to look next. Thank you, May in Ca.

    3. What records were stolen was the plot map. Sites where families had purchased and used. I will see what I can find.
