You will find in the census records that he left Georgia, Chattoga Co. after the 1850 census and moved to Dyer Township (near Owensville) where he can be found in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census) As Mr. Lovell has attested, he is buried in the Chenault Cemetery. Most of what I have from that point down is in regards to the descendancy through his son, Louis Fate (sometimes written Louis LaFate) I do have some info on James' ancestors if you are interested.
