Surnames: Elrod Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.arkansas.counties.saline/42.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Since posting my query on Elias Freeman Elrod I have found that on March 1, 1862, he enlisted in Company B, 25th Arkansas Infantry, CSA and became a 2nd Liutenant. I have a copy of a letter he wrote to his wife from Shelveyville, TN on Feb. 25, 1863 in which he states that he has been "throwed out of his command" along with about half the officers in a reorganization. He does not know what will happen to him and says he will write later, but that is the last his wife ever heard from him. Any further information would be greatly appreciated.
