    1. Caleb Brothers 1788-1853
    2. Glenda Brothers
    3. Hi All, Let me know what you think!!!! Just got back from Salt Lake on a research trip. Think I have found the proof that Job Brothers', Caleb isn't the one who was in Ala. and died in Saline Co. Ark. 10 Sept 1853. On micro film I found the following. Job Brothers Estate. 1800 lists children living Sept 1809 they include Mary Cartwright wife of Robert Cartwright, Caleb, Lemuel, (who d. 1826 and Caleb was adm to Lemuels estate), Zacariah, Deborah, Susannah and Durant. Job's settlement of Estate was REcorded in Bk D. folio 289 on Sept Term 1809. He doesn't mention Ezekial the one known brother of our Caleb (That proof is in the War of 1812 Records, where Mary Jones Brothers, wife of Ezekial stated that he finished out our Caleb's "hitch" in the service, and that they were brothers) that died in ARK. and Ezekial and our Caleb are both listed in Saint Clair Co. Al. 1820 Census. [There is a Caleb Brothers listed in the Pasquotank Co. NC census also in 1820] 1830 census shows a Caleb Brothers in both St Clair Ala and in Pasquotank Co. NC.... 1840 No Caleb in NC and only ours in Ala. Then I find the estate records of Caleb Brothers in Pasquotank Co. NC... Where he died intestate Oct 1831 in Pasquotank Co. NC. Stating the Widow was Charolotte Brothers. and children were Stacy wife of Pritchard Brothers, Nancy, Durant and Emily. Pritchard Brothers was guardian for the 3 minor children of Caleb Brothers, Namely Nancy, Durant, and Emily. Estate of Caleb by John White, Administrator, Book I p. 166 March 1833. (Nancy may have been d/o William Brothers who Caleb was guardian of, I couldn't tell) Anyway... We have none of these children listed for our Caleb. and our Caleb married Mary Henslee in Saint Clair Co. Ala. Dec. 20, 1846, which is after Job's Caleb died. What connects the Caleb who died in 1831 with Job is that amoungst his estate papers is a paper showing that he, Caleb was Administrator of the Estate of Lemuel Brothers dec'd this was dated January 14th 1826. Lemuel is mentioned in Job's Estate papers as a son of Job's and that makes him Caleb's brother. Also I believe it is in the Quaker records that Job's Caleb married Charlotte. I don't have that record in front of me so I may have the source incorrect on where it is stated. Now I am not ruling out the fact that the 2 Calebs may be cousins, ours being born ca 1788 in NC (according to 1850 Ark Census) and Job's Caleb b.15 Nov 1787, Pasquotank Co. NC. .... I haven't gotten all the families straightened out that were in NC in 1790, but there is a Thomas, Thomas Jr. and a Lewis Brothers amoung others... then in 1810 South Carolina there is Lewis and Thomas listed. These are the 2 I am looking real hard at. A Lewis Brothers gets land for war duty in Ark. A Thomas Brothers' wife Lavina shows up in Ala. And then there is the part about a Thomas Nails Brothers being buried in Moody Chapel in Ala. don't have the dates in front of me but they make him tooooo old to have been Lavinas husband, and he was supposed to have died in Louisianna or Mississippi.
