My Great Grandfather's name is G.W.(George Washington) Roland and his mother's name was Emeline. He had a brother named William (Bill) and a sister Leanna (Ann) as well as J.D. (Jefferson Davis) Roland and maybe a James and John as well. Strangely enough though, Jeremiah Rowland died at Port Hudson, Louisiana in 1863 and My Great Grandfather G.W. was born in 1870. Apparently, from what I can tell that is where the name changed from Rowland to Roland. All the records I have found on Jeremiah are Rowland, but all my ancestors after that are Roland. I need as much information as I can get on Jeremiah in order to verufy he is my Great Great Grandfather. Any help would be appreciated.
