Hello, During the holiday "free time" on Ancestry.com, I printed some Arkansas census lists and have a question. I have been looking for information on my gggrandmother, Eliza Hartman, whose 1st husband's 1st name I have never known, (Hartman was her 1st married name, and the maiden name of my ggrandmother, Amanda Jane Hartman, born 1865, who married William L. Rye. Her mother, Eliza Hartman, then married LeRoy Callahan on Jan. 6, 1878.) The census I printed out from Ancestry.com, which is from the AR 1870 Federal Census Index, shows: 1870 - HARTMAN, Eliza, Scott County, AR, pg. 556, Benton Saline Twp. 1870 - HARTMAN, Nate, Scott County, AR, pg. 556, Benton Saline Twp. I know this family lived in or around Benton, Saline Co. I don't understand this, unless it is an error. Shouldn't it be "Benton, Saline County"? Does anyone know if there was a "Benton SAline Twp. in Scott County in 1870? I need to know before I pursue this much farther. Any help or ideas appreciated! Thank you, Lyn
