Blythe-In my previous message I called him "Fritz". Sorry, a typeo, should be "Fitz". In the 1880 Federal Census, Maude (my grandmother) does not appear because she was born in 1881. The 1900 Federal Census also finds Fitz Blythe in Williamson County, Tx. Although he is listed as a widower, Sarah J. Blythe lives on in Comanche, Texas as "divorced" in 1900. At that time she is working as a cook at an establishment that also employs her three daughters, Mary, Jessie, and Maude. Sarah Blythe appears again in 1910 living in Throckmorten, Co. with daughter, Jessie (Stegall). I will call. I am anxious to speak with you.

I have in my posession the Blythe framily Bible that was damaged by the Galveston hurricane of 1900 thet reached Brenham, Texas, Washington County. Some of my work notes include: The 1860 Washington County Texas Census lists on line 11 page 171 lists this illegible name as a male 12 years of age born in Texas. The name does not appear in the family Bible. Could be "Fritz". The June 26, 1880 Washington County, Texas, Census, ED 140, sheet 43, line 3, Dwelling 461, Family 388; indicates that C. F.Blythe was born in Texas. He was 32 before June 1, 1880, was a Farmer. Wife Sarah and sister Sallie Ophelia were in the household. Children Mary, Joe, Jessie, Emma and Maggie were present. The June 5,1900 Williamson County, Texas Federal Census, Enumeration District 129, Precinct 4 indicates that C. F. was a farm laborer who had been at this job for 6 months, was born in May 1849, was 31 and was a widdower. At this time he was working in the same county as his sister Jo Blythe who was married. Sarah J.'s surname was Harrison. I believe that C. F. was called Fitsauna. I have the children listed as being Mary, Emma, Joe, Jessie and Maggie. Csall me at 1-800-269-1927, San Antonio, Texas, so we can talk about the relationship.
I am seeking descendants of Ruth Ellen Robinette who married J. A. Moore 3 March 1917 in Saline County, AR. My great grandfather was a brother to Ruth's father Charles Summerfield Robinette. I hope that you or other members can help me with this family. Elizabeth Robinette Simmons

I have a copy of a letter he wrote to his wife from Shelveyville, TN on Feb. 25, 1863 in which he states that he has been "throwed out of his command" along with about half the officers in a reorganization. He does not know what will happen to him and says he will write later, but that is the last his wife ever heard from him. Any further information would be greatly appreciated.

This is the old Thomas house. William Thomas and family moved here from NY via Illinois in the 1880s, I believe, and owned a great deal of land in this area. He worked as a consultant for the RR. The place was called Midland Farms and was a showplace of agricultural practices. A few years ago, the old barn was blown up as part of a movie scene. The land has been divided between heirs. Most recently, LR attorney Thorp Thomas owned the house and surrounding land, but sold it all to developers last year. The house will surely be demolished. It was indeed a showplace for many decades, but has now been stripped of its marble fireplaces and fancy trims, its antiques and original furnishings. The mobile home park next door is owned by another Thomas family descendant. His name is Lee Pengelly and he lives in a house at the back of the park. I've done a lot of family history on this family (they're not related to me), but it was many years ago and the details don't come to mind as quickly as they used to!
