A cached web page showed the following: Remembering a soldier: Civil War re-enactors dedicate Confederate ... Benton Courier, AR - Jul 1, 2006 ... Mark Kalkbrenner as commander, the battery has six reproduction cannons, which were ... Joshua B. Humphreys of Company D, Cockes Regiment, Arkansas Infantry, CSA ... The link to the Benton Courier does not work. I poked around bentoncourier.com and did not see any archived articles. I am interested in learning if this article says more about Joshua B. HUMPHREYS (my ancestor, the B. is for Badger) or if it was just a list of the soliders in that regiment. Thank you, Charles McCool

Jasper Crow owned 160 acres in Township 2-N Range 18W section 30. The local legend is that there was a narrow gauge railroad track for hauling lumber that ran north of Paron and the railroad stop was called Crow's Station. There was also an Ellie Crow who lived in the vicinity. I do not know any of these people, just information from a book I have and an old timer's memory. Both his parents died when he was a teen. His father, Charles Creameans, was born 1862 and died 1884. His mother, Agnes, was born 1870 in KY and died in 1899 in MO. He's listed on the 1920 MO Census in Bauxite Twp., Saline Co. as Lemuel Cremains. Prior to that, he was in Fulton Co., AR in 1900 and in Creek Co., OK in 1910, before returning to AR. Lemuel was first married to Virginia Caroline Walker in Stoddard Co., MO on Aug. 3, 1904. They had three sons: Albert, born June 16, 1905 in Clay Co., AR; Charles, born Aug. 9, 1906 in Lawrence Co., AR; and Herbert, born 1907 in Jackson Co., AR. Lemuel's second marriage was to Maud (last name unknown), about 1914 in either Fulton Co., AR or OK. They had a son and daughter: Conrad, born Aug. 10, 1912 and Willie, born Nov. 1919. His third marriage was to Janie Gilmore in Bauxite, Saline Co., AR on Aug. 11, 1922. There was a child associated with their union, Deward/Duard Cremen, born Benton, Saline Co. on Oct. 5, 1921 and died Benton, Saline Co., on Feb. 3, 2009. However, Deward/Duard's obit indicates his parents names were William C. and Janie Cremen. Lemuel simply disappears after the 1920 Census. Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated. I really have no history about the Brooks family and only a photo of William Alonzo Brooks. My wife and I just started researching my faternal side of the family and the only information I have is that Williams Alonzo Brooks appears in the 1920 Census with a few of his sons. One of which is was my father. In fact I was surprised to even know his first name was William, when my Dad was alive he told me it was Alonzo. Sorry, I have no more information, I have nothing on Zella Ball, and I do not know when either were born or die, not even the dates. However, I would be willing to help research with you. Then, after divorcing William, Sarah "Delilah" Rowland married William's uncle . . . Samuel S. Rowland and together they had two children: Laura Jane Rowland b. 1875 in Saline County, AR d. ??? Henry Franklin Rowland b. 1876 in Saline County, AR d. ??? Just yesterday while in Saline County, AR, I found all of the wedding and divorce certificates and made copies. And the real kicker is that before Sarah "Delilah" Rowland was maried to Samuel S. The funny thing is that when she married William, Samuel was his guardian and had to sign for him to marry! HA! I know that some of my Russell ancestors, from Saline County, were Masons. Are there any records available? Thanks, Sue Russell
