    3. There is a cemetery about 1 mile north and 1 mile west of Collegeville, located on Hilldale Road. It's called Owen Creek Cemetery and mostly members of my family are buried there. There are NO tombstones whatsoever. The Rowlands aren't buried there. This is the closest cemetery in the area you described. I don't have my Rowland material with me here in Houston, but I was thinking some of the Rowlands were buried in that little cemetery east of the Saline County line on Hwy 5, actually in Pulaski County--the one with a little fence around it on the north side of the highway, where they've built apartments nearby. Does anyone else have the list of burials in this cemetery? Carolyn At 04:42 PM 10/4/99 EDT, you wrote: >My Amos Rowland purchased land starting in 1842 in the area around >Collegeville. 1. Re: Snyder,Benton,Saline Co.
    2. Hello all. The Benton Services Center used to be a State Hospital for the insane. I remember because I used to visit and aunt and uncle who lived across the highway from it back in the 40's, when I was a kid. I was always a little afaid of the place. I think the worst cases were kept at Little Rock at the "White House on the Hill." I think the original building at Little Rock was torn down years ago. Another memory is of the patients of the Benton Center who were not in lock up and were allowed to wander around some. They had gallon buckets of blackberries to sell when they were in season. I guess that was pocket money for them. 1. Saline co. Surnames
    2. Hi, My Saline co. surnames are Oglesby, Shafer. My husband's grandfather was Luther Oglesby and his grandmother was Nancy Turner Oglesby. Nancy Oglesby died in 1954 and is buried in Fowler Cemetary. I haven't been able to a death date on her husband or a record of burial. I found a record of him registered for WW1 but not sure if he was actually in war. I do have a birth date of 20 Jan 1886. If anyone has a connection to Oglesby Family. I'd love to hear from you :) Thanks Cindy Schafer
