Ester Wood , niece to my Myrtle Wood daughter of Daniel Wood. her mom tilde Adams married again to Joh Phillips and had many children. Myrtle disappeared...Ester said she went to the mailbox and never came back when Grampa was a young man. anyone of the Phillip clan/Wood hear anything different? Myrtle married a Joiner/Montgomery/Cook. then disapperared. Grandpa lived with is Phillips aunt who married a Moore. We have a family reunion this weekend in Little Rock.

    3. I found the following people in the Arkansas Death Record Index, however it doesn't give you the birth date. But......by having the death date, you can order a copy of the death certificate and that will have their birth date on it. There are no marked graves left from this time period. Most of the earlier burials are now listed as unknown due to the numerous "moves". There is a monument to the people buried in the cemetery near Shackleford and I-430 in Little Rock. Email me directly and we can discuss this more.

There is a Sarah Smith who died there and is buried in the Hospital Cemetery in 1929. Could this be her?

The Hospital was outside the city limits during those days so that is why you don't see any city death record for them. The cemetery at that time was where the Health Department Building is now. They were "moved" in 1936 by the WPA. Come by the State Archives sometime and I will show you what we do have on the Hospital.

I am searching for my grandfather, James Alexander Lightner, who was sent to the"State Hospital" in 1917 from Columbia County, Arkansas. To my knowledge, he died there in March 1917 and was buried in the hospital cemetery as a pauper. There is no death record available in Little Rock that I have been able to locate. Thanks for any assistance you might have to offer.

Scroll down to the Pulaski County Cemetery Transcriptions page. If you know the cemetery you can search that. There have been a lot of the indexed. If you do not have the cemetery the next best thing is to obtain a death certificate and check to see where they were buried.
