Do we have a place for mystery photographs? I found negatives yesterday for several cemetery photographs at the time of interment, and can't tell if they are in Mississippi on my father's side, or Arkansas on my mother's side. Mildred Brady Venitucci
Looking for descendants of Drucilla Bridges, who was called "Dude." She married William Newman, had three daughters, and died young. Drucilla was born between 1824 and 1829 in SC or GA. That is all the information I have on her. Drucilla was the daughter of Benjamin F. Bridges and Mary Henagan, of Marlboro, SC, and GA. The family moved to Arkansas from Georgia in the early 1840s, settling in Pulaski County by 1845. Her family stopped in Alabama long enough for the mother, Mary Henagan Bridges, to have the youngest child. It is possible that Drucilla could have married in Alabama. Drucilla was the sister of Pulaski Co. pioneers John Wesley Bridges, Ann Bridges Conway, Jane Bridges Hogan, Dr. Benjamin Bridges, Dr. Frank Bridges of the 19th and early 20th century. All help appreciated. Happy to share information. Mildred Brady Venitucci

I want to thank Becky Roberts for kindly sharing her resource books with us. Thursday I received the death certificate for great-grandpa George Dreher. No small feat, in that it has taken me 29-years and five attempts through the Arkansas Bureau of Vital Statistics, to get the correct one. Once I had the correct death year for 83-year old grandpa Dreher, the BVS stopped sending me multiple copies of grandpa's 9-month old grandson and namesake, George Dreher's d/c. My attached letters explained this 9-month old couldn't possibly be the farmer with ten children I sought. I guess they just go by the forms and don't get into the details in the accompanying letter. Routinely, I'd get baby George's death info from pneumonia from chicken pox. My dod from family history was off one year. Becky provided me with the month and year, and that did the trick. Thank you, Becky! Now I have great-grandpa Dreher's father's name also. Sue in Tampa

Becky, could I get a look up in your AR Death Record Index. My aunt, Oral Irene Henry (a twin) was born Oct. 28,1917 to Florence Bierman Henry and William Thomas Henry in Perry Co. August 31 [PULASKI]-Little Rock-death indexes Good Morning, Is there a death index for either AR or Little Rock? Is it on line? I am looking for starting point for a 'missing link' :) Jan. 16 1924 mother of Mrs. Pearl Andrews passes away in Tex. Mrs. Andrews is a resident of Little Rock. Is there a local directory that might list Mrs. Andrews? Mrs. Andrews only child, Ray, born 1900, passes away in his 20's, maybe in Little Rock. Can anyone suggest something? Sincerely, Robert Rankin, Oregon

Don't know if you can get to the Arkansas History Commission, but the Arkansas newspapers are indexed and a heaven for genealogists or researchers. If you pulled the year 1920 (for instance), looked under the name of the orphanage or the person's name and found something, it would list the issue and page. You take that information to the clerks and they pull the microfilm for you, help you set it up and show you how to print (or they print it for you). The first time I walked in there and saw that wall of bound newspaper index volumes, I thought I'd gone to genealogy heaven!
