I am thankful for all the helpful people on the message boards who have so generously helped me over the years, and to Dave Brannon of Lonoke for all his assistance and generosity of spirit. I was able to contact my old friend, a daughter of Louise Dove and Herman Dove, through the obituary, and wanted to share what I learned for anyone interested in the BRYANT, BRIDGES, or WRIGHT families of Pulaski County, Faulkner County, Lonoke County, and Sebastian County. Herman Dove's mother was Augusta Wright. She and a brother Edwin Wright were the children of Elijah W. Wright and Elizabeth Unknown. Augusta married Robert Earl Dove. Their children were Herman Elijah Dove and Charles Wright Dove. Herman and wife Louise Dove Murphy are buried in Gibson Cemetery, and Virginia Wright Bryant, James Edward Bryant, Edwin Wright and Ira Wright are buried in Cato Cemetery. Augusta Wright Dove is buried in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, cemetery, not sure which. Elijah was a brother to Virginia "Mitt" Wright, who married James Edward Bryant, and was also a brother of Green M. Wright, who married Alice Drucilla Bridges, sister of my grandmother, Millie Bridges Bryant (married the son of Virginia Wright and James Ed Bryant, Asa "Acie" Potter Bryant). The Wrights were the children of John Myles Wright of Tennessee - all were born in TN, moved to White County in 1860, and to Pulaski (Cypress Township)/Faulkner County by 1870. They first appear in the Haygood County 1850 census with wife/mother Rbca, Rebecca, I assume. She is not with them in the 1860 census in White County, AR, so I assume she is deceased. As far as kinship goes, Augusta Wright and my grandfather, Asa Potter Bryant, would have been 1st cousins; my mother and Herman Dove, 2nd cousins, my childhood friends and I, 3rd cousins. It had been almost 55 years since we had talked or communicated; when she was called to the phone, I told her that I was Mildred Brady, and asked if she remembered me. Dead silence for a few seconds. "MILDRED FROM TEXAS?????" she asked. We had a wonderful visit for the better part of an hour. She, also, had been told that we were kin but she wasn't sure exactly how. When she told me her father's mother was Augusta WRIGHT, I had the missing link. Thanks again for everyone's help. I am pasting an Outline Descendant Tree here for John Myles Wright. Looking for the maiden name of Louise Dove, and the maiden name of mother of Herman Dove.both deceased, buried in Gibson Cemetery in Pulaski County. My mother always told me we were distant cousins, but she didn't know how. So far, in researching my BRIDGES, BRYANT, AND WRIGHT lines, I can't find a connection. There were 4 children, Micky, Pat, Jane, and a younger child, Charlie perhaps, who was killed in a plane crash in his 20's I believe. When we visited my grandmother on Batesville Pike, we always played with them. Mildred Happy Thanksgiving, all! New information indicates Jane Dove's married name is BUSH, and she lives in North Little Rock.

Hello I would be interested if in your History of Pulaski County, if you have info on Gussie Haynie who was the Chairman of Public relations in 1933 for the Womens City Club, as well as she became deputy prosecuting attorney in charge of domestic relations for Pulaski county. Also, any information you have on her father Mike Haynie, "constable until 1923", Then Mike " Haynie was a deputy under Homer M. Adkins when the latter was sheriff.
