Hi Jean, My ALLENs came from Virginia to Warren County (now Dekalb County), Tennessee. Then from TN to Texas. Then from TX to California. THE ALLEN FAMILY by Richard Fenton Wicker Jr. says they got to Virginia when William ALLEN was born in London, England in 1630 and died in York County, VA in 1677. But I haven't confirmed that's my family. All I can prove is my ALLENs movements from VA > TN > TX > CA. The LANGFORDs in Haywood County, NC > St. Clair and Jefferson Counties, AL > Pope and Craighead Counties, AR are my mother's side of the family.
