Hi Euna, That would be great! Thank you! My great-grandparents were Mervin Lafayette Boen/Bowen (b. ~1901) and Leota Faye Lemley Bowen (b. Oct. 22, 1904). They were both born and raised in Pope County. Mervin's father was Thomas Jefferson Boen. Thomas Jefferson Boen was the only child of John Turner Boen and Elizabeth A. Lile(s). John Turner Boen was also married to Emily Hicks. I have not been able to trace my Boen ancestors farther back than John Turner Boen and I would like to learn more. Here is the current information that I have: John Turner Boen was born March 7, 1815 in TN and died 1897 in White Co., AR. He married Emily Hicks. He later married Elizabeth A. Lile(s) October 13, 1859 in Jackson Co., AR; Breckenridge Township. She was born in AL. Family stories say that Elizabeth Lile(s) was a full blood Cherokee Indian, and I'm wondering if John Turner Boen was also. I would also like to find out who John's and Elizabeth's family's were. Please let me know where I can send my check for a single membership and who to make the check to. Thank you so much for your help! To Lori Bowen Gwyn If you don't subscribe to Ancestry, see if there is a Mormon Family History Library close to you; look in the white pages for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. If there is one close enough, call them and ask for their days and hours open. The volunteers there are expert at finding people and would love to help you out. The only charge is a few cents for copies of things they find. (It helps defray the cost of copy paper and computer repair.) You can also go to www.FamilySearch.org (the church's genealogy website) and see if you can find anything there. You might also go online and see if the town where your ancestor was born has a genealogical or historical society; they can be quite helpful. The unfortunate thing is that a lot of towns didn't start keeping records until sometime in the 1900s. Good luck; they're there and ready to be found! -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Tue, May 17, 2011 12:00 am Subject: ARPOPE Digest, Vol 6, Issue 9 Today's Topics: 1.
