How do I change my email address? Thank You. Phyllis Campbell
I think maybe David and Mary had a third child, Elizabeth E. Tennessee A. born 1856 or 57 John A. born 1859 Elizabeth E. born 1861 Then there is a 5 year gap before the next child was born: William H. I think this is where David and Harriet's family started. We've been to Walnut Grove Cem. with my mother-in-law. Many of her folks are buried there....both Dixons and Whites. David R. would be her g grandfather. We saw Harriet's grave. A few years ago I found a listing for a Dixon Cem. in Pope Co. As it turned out it was a 1-man cemetery: David R.'s. It is located 1 mi. north of Atkins, AR on hwy 105 on the west side of the hwy in a fenceline of that field. My husband and I went there to try to locate it 3 or 4 years ago. A lady at the Atkins library helped us. She said she had always heard that there was a civil war soldier buried just north of town in a field, but that was all she knew. She made a phone call to get permission for us enter the field (I was following directions from the internet as to the location of the cemetery) and after about 1/2 hour of searching, we located it. Berry LANGFORD wrote his will in Pope County, AR in 1833. I'm looking for any information about Berry, his parents or siblings. And any record of his wife, Elizabeth (Spring) LANGFORD. Or their children, Milinda, Polly, Margaret R., Lucinda, Champ, Jeptha, Edley H., John W. and an unnamed child. (As I understand, Edley H. LANGFORD married Abbie M. WASHBURN in Pope County on 28 Sep 1858 and died on 1 Sep 1862. I think he died in Pope County but I don't know where he's buried.) Bill Allen

There were Ford/Foard in Mecklenburg County now Cabarrus County living on the waters of Muddy Creek. The Ford family lived next to Jacob Self. There is also a line of Ford in now Wake/Johnston Counties NC. There was a Baptist meeting house in Cabarrus/Meckelneburg known as Haynes Meeting House. The Baptist Preacher John Culpepper witnessed some of the deeds of the people who lived near Haynes and were moving west. Most of the people living near the meeting house had come earlier from southern Wake County and then Cumberland County. From some source, I have seen where this line of Ford moved to TX. I wonder if tied to the Pope County bunch? The Lee family were also baptist. They were from Johnston/Wake County to the Little River area in now Montgomery County NC and then to upper Anson near the Rocky River. They attended nearby Rocky River Baptist where John Culpepper was prominent minister. There was a migration of the early Particular and Regular Baptists from the area of Wake/Chatham County NC south in the 1770's. The two groups did not respect each other and competed for new members. The race was not healed until in the 1780's the group came together in GA. The Culpepper family had in part moved to GA and may be involved in that too. Anyhow, I wonder if the Lee and the Ford family had both come from the areas around Wake County NC?

Hi Cheryl, I am not sure if my Lee's are connected to Laura and Decater Lee or not. I am not familiar with those names. I do not have my Lee book handy right now to look up who all my Clementine Lee's siblings were but if you would like to e-mail me at [email protected], I will try to look that information up and we can see if maybe we can figure out a connection. I know those names are not in my direct line. However, I am thinking that maybe one of My Rosa Belle Ford Tate's siblings may have had a daughter named Laura and you know how people named people after relatives so there maybe a connection somewhere. My three lines of Ford, Lee and Tate all intersect with my great grandmother, Rosa Belle Ford Tate. Her parents were George W. Ford and Clementine Lee Ford. Rosa Belle was married to Zachariah Benjamin Tate. They were all from Arkansas around Pope County and Yell County and all of those people came to north Texas and settled in Ellis County, just south of Dallas County. Zack B. Tate was a bit older than Rosa Belle. She came here as a child with her parents and he came as an adult with a Tate cousin and they met down here and married in Texas but both were born in Arkansas and were pretty much raised up there. My Lee's were originally from Anson Co, North Carolina before going to Arkansas. Hi Jean, My own line of Ford's came to north Texas and settled in Ellis County just south of Dallas County in about 1880. This was my GG Grandparents, George W. Ford and Clementine Lee Ford. Several of George's brothers and sisters also came to Texas and settled in this same area. One was Rowena Ford who had married an Adams and someone else and she was widowed twice and came to Texas to raise her children. She was older than George. He also had a brother named William who I think also came to Texas but don't know a lot about that. There were other Ford siblings who did not come to Texas that I know of and probably stayed in Arkansas but I do not know where they all wound up so there is a chance that one of them may be connected to your Ford's. I found a descendant of Mary P. Ford, a sister or George's who was a librarian in Russellville several years ago and she had the old Ford family Bible that belonged to George's mother, Margaret Kindle Ford and she had really kept amazing records and that was a huge help to me. I got a copy of it. On the Lee's: My Lee's were also from Anson Co, N.C. so there maybe a connection with us there. I do think there may have been a James Lee in that family too. It has been a while since I've worked on that line but my e-mail address is [email protected] so e-mail there if you'd like to talk more in detail about these lines. My Tate's lived in different area's of Arkansas, I think but I found them mainly in Yell County and my Great Grandfather, Zachariah B. Tate was the youngest of Zachariah Tate and Martha Timmons children. Martha died when Zack was still a kid and Zachariah, Sr. remarried and moved to another part of Arkansas. My Zack, Jr. moved in with his oldest brother, John W. Tate. Hi, Clydene - One of my dad's uncles married a Risener - I believe it was William Andrew Jackson Wiley - I have often wondered about the Risener family - I have a photo of what I think is the two families at a wedding - taken outside, some barefoot kids - one of the barefoot ones is my grandfather (I think) Needham Frank Wiley, son of Andrew Jackson Wiley and Rebecca Cato and younger brother of William Andrew Jackson Wiley. I think my ggf Andrew Jackson Wiley b. 1823-1835, d. 1903, is probably a son of the 3(or 4) Wiley (Wiler) brothers found in Conway County in 1818 and after - William Wiley, Obadiah Wiley, Isaiah Wiley, and Abraham Wiley. Would really like someone to help me confirm this. I have some note of a probate of a will with Andrew Jackson Wiley as executor - but that is in Conway County in 1853-1856 period. This would be the earliest I can find him. He married Rebecca Cato in 1859, they are buried at the Wiley Cemetery north of Appleton. I think this area was once a part of Conway County. A J Wiley supposedly performed marriages while living north of Appleton - perhaps there is some record of this ? I will check for the photo - Thanks, Vance -------------- Original message -------------- From: [email protected] > > Vance: > > My Great Grandmother was Martha Risener.?
