They moved from Dunklin County, Missouri with his brother David Nathaniel Singleton and Margaret Lucinda Taylor. Both brothers were farmers in the Bolivar Township area. These three sons all moved to the Sycamore, Dekalb County, Illinois area and area buried in this DeKalb County. Children of John William Singleton are William Robert, David Ashley, Myrtle Alice, Linia Mae, Elvis Lacy, Ruby May, Itha Caroline, and Nelle Hunn Singleton. John William Singleton was my ggrandfather, Elvis Lacy Singleton my grandfather, and my parents are James William (J.W.) and Minnie Manley Singleton. Have much information back to late 1600s on this Singleton family. Also have an old photo with the Singleton, Young and Beard families in early 1900s in Harrisburg.
