Born July 9, 1909, in Bigelow, a son of the late Gabe and Maggie Sellers Davie, he was a barber with his own shop. Survivors are his wife, William Davie; five sons, Layton Davie Jr. of Detroit, Willie Davie, Clayton Davie, Ray Davie and Malvin Davie, all of Bigelow; four daughters, Anna Belle Johnson of Los Angeles, Carrie Henry of Palarm, and Maggie Evans and Doris Evans, both of Bigelow; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be noon Friday at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. E.J. Adams officiating. Burial will be in Casey Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terry Hood, Kenneth Brown, Nathaniel Evans Sr., Edward Evans, Edward M. Evans, William Evans and James Coswell. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home
