Hi Marlene McCormick, Say if you don't mind I would like to have a copy of those maps of Houston and/or Perry County. Especially the older ones I have heard a lot of tales on the area around the turn of the last century and the early 1900's. I saw the old town of Houston back in the 1960's when it was just a bunch of old empty buildings with big dirt main street with a well in the middle of it all. Then I was back over there about 1993 and the town was gone, new highway through now and finally found the old well out in the middle of a pasture nothing but the old well left. Back about 1910 my Grandfather had a Blacksmith Shop there in Houston and his father owned a farm just outside of town. Want to one day get back over there as I would like to find the old Homestead patent and I believe he died just early 1910,s and would like to find the old probate on that farm, only for genealogy use.
