    1. [ARPERRY-L] Re: Perry County Marriage Records
    2. Hi: I recently came back from Conway, AR and spend a number of days doing family research in Perryville, AR. Had I seen your request for research I would have gladly looked up the names you posted on your query. I will be going back to do more research at the Perryville Court House in April or May of 2002, if you would still like the reasearch done contact me at <[email protected]> and let me know. Give me the list of folks that you'd like to have researched re marriage records and I'll do it for you next year. Look forward to hearing from you..... Freda L. Cowdell

    3. Freda: How nice of you to make such a generious offer. I will be more than happy to send some money to help pay your expenses. Please don't say no. The Knight--Davis marriage listed below came from the LDS web site. There is no submitter listed so it must have been put on there by the church directly from the records. Her name is spelled Kessiah. She was my ggrandmother. My grandmother was born in 1884 and I do not know her fathers name. Kessiah was a Weisner and first married Aaron Davis in 1876. He died in 1880 before my grandmother was born in 1884. I always thought Aaron Davis was her father until I received Kessiahs pension application and found two affadavits that he died in 1880. Robert KNIGHT Sex: M Marriage(s): Spouse: Kersiah DAVIS Marriage: 3 Jun 1882 Perry, Arkansas Also I found Aaron B Davis buried in Perry with a date of 27Oct1880. That is the same date as is on the affadavit in Kessiahs pension papers so I know it is Van, Walters and Charleys father. He is listed only as A B Davis. He is buried in the DeBarrie cemetery in Perry. Aplin where he died is now a rural route 1 to Perry, in other words part of the town of Perry. The cemetery book says there is only one date on the tombstone and they list it as his date of birth. I am quite sure they are in error. If you are over that way I would appreciate it if you would go by and take a snap shot and send it to me so I can take a look. Also please look and see who is buried in the same area. Especially any Weisners or Wisners, Terrells, McFarlands, Palmers or other Davises. I'm not sure I spelled the name of the cemetery correctly. It may be DeBerrie or some other spelling. Lets keep in touch and let me know when you will be going that way. I may be going that way this next October. If I am I will let you know.
