    3. David, There is an older book with a countywide cemetery inventory. We do not own a copy, but someone in the Conway Co. club does and has brought it to our meetings several times. We will track it down and see what is there. There are also a couple of ladies in the Conway Co. group who also have lines in Perry Co. They are in the process of updating the book. We were waiting for them to finish before buying since my wife has lines in Perry Co. 3. (Sorry about being a duplicate for those of you on more than one list.) I want to first apologize for the length of this request. I am providing ALL the information that I have. If anyone has any suggestions or recognizes any of the names I would deeply appreciate any/all help in scaling this brick wall. I am researching my husbands side of the family. His g-grandmother was suppose to be a Cherokee Indian. I have no proof of this or any evidence to suggest that this is true, only family stories. I do not know where she was born or who her parents were. The only evidence I have of her life is two marriage licenses one for 1890 and one for 1897 and the 1900, 1910, 1920 census records. She was born ~1870 - 1873, maybe as late as 1875 died 1942. (I have been unable to locate a death certificate on her only an obituary no social security either.) She was suppose to have a brother, Jim or Wayne Grant but I can't find him listed on anything! She was married 3 times and had children by all three husbands. All her children are deceased. She lived all her life in AR as far as I can tell. The counties I found her in, Jackson, Conway, Yell, Lonoke. She may have been born in OK, but it would have been before OK became a state. The names I have are as follows: Dora Adeline Grant (1st marriage) , M Malone, (children) Pearl married a Hail/Hale, Myrtle b ~1892 married W F Paine (2nd marriage) , Noah Strong Edmon(d)son, (children) Houston Grantson married Mabel McArthur, Charlie married Rose Senbill (3rd marriage) , Joseph Wesley Carlock, (children) Ruby several marriages, Hurbert married a Fry ANY suggestions would be appreciated. I have not found any new information in more than two years. At this point I have exhausted all my leads. Thank you to every one in advance for any help that I receive. ____________________________ reply to [email protected] web page: http://www.rmi.net/~henson Names I am researching: BRENT(S), GRANT, EDMON(D)SON, HENSON, MCARTHUR ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com.

    1. [ARPERRY-L] Council Bluff
    2. Marlene Mccormick
    3. Council Bluff got its name as legend has it because the Indians in the area of Foursh Lafave River held their Council meetings on the Bluff on 216 Hy.This has been the crossing of Foursh Lafave River going to Houston for many many years. I am interested in the families that lived here and their history. The abstract starts out with the land being given to Ark. by the US Government. In 1850, Then State of Ar to Jno Bowie on march 17,1860. The next chain of title listed is J.B. Smith to W.H. Rankin and John Bland on March 2, 1899. The court house at Perryville burned 3 times destroying land records so the chain of title is broken.Lawsons have owned property adjoining and possibly this property also. My husband and I bought the 72 achor tract in June, with old dug well, old road bed and what is used for a barn that appears to be an old home. Also a home place sits further up the bluff. On the edge of the foot of the bluff behind the barn is what appears to be a child's grave and possibly an adults. The reason for this belief is that there is a rock in an oval shape placed upright at what appears to be the head stone and a flat stone at the foot. Irises are planted at each end.Any one having history and information on this property please e-mail me. My email add will change to [email protected] on Jan first 2000. Thank you in anticipation of getting lots of information. Marlene Yielding McCormick
