Please let me know if they are NOT found. I need to narrow down the search area for my vacation time. I am grouping them by county as much as possible. CONWAY COUNTY: Marriages Pearl Malone to ? Hail/Hale between 1900 - 1910 Dora Addaline Edmonson to Joseph Wesley Carlock between 1900 - 1910 (possibly 1906 - 1908) CONWAY COUNTY:Divorce James Grant vs Allie Winton Grant between 1909 - 1910 Wain/Wayne Grant vs Mattie Gramble Grant after 1903 YELL COUNTY:Marriage Dora Addaline Edmonson to Joseph Wesley Carlock between 1900 - 1910 (possibly 1906 - 1908) Myrtle Malone to W F Paine/Payne between 1910 - 1920 (possibly 1916) James Grant to Josephine Vaughn Verden between 1910 - 1920 LONOKE COUNTY:Marriage Myrtle Malone to W F Paine/Payne between 1910 - 1920 (possibly 1916) LONOKE COUNTY:Cemetery Charlie Edmon(d)son buried in England; Thomas Cemetery? wife Rosie? and a daughter beside him. If someone can I would like the information off the headstones for this family. A picture would be extra special! PERRY COUNTY: Pearl Malone to ? 1. [ARPERRY-L] GRANT/SITTERLEY surname
    2. yvonne henson
    3. Hello list members it has been about 2 months since my last post of this message. I am sure some of you are getting tired of reading it:) First, I apologize for the length of this request. This is ALL the information that I have. If anyone has any suggestions or recognizes any of these names, I would deeply appreciate any/all help in solving this puzzle. Dora Adaline GRANT was rumored to be a Cherokee Indian. I have no proof of this or any evidence to suggest that this is true, only family stories. I do not know where she was born I may know who her parents were. The evidence I have of her life is two marriage licenses one for 1890(Jackson County) and one for 1897(Conway County) and the 1900(Conway County), 1910(Yell County), 1920(Lonoke County) census records. She was born 1870 - 1875, died 1942. (I have been unable to obtain a death certificate or social security record. I have her obituary.) She was married 3 times and had children by all three husbands. All her children are deceased. She lived all her life in AR according to the census records. The names I have are as follows: Dora Adaline GRANT (1st marriage), M MALONE, (children) Pearl b ~1893 married a HAIL/HALE, Myrtle b ~1892 married W F PAINE/PAYNE (2nd marriage), Noah Strong EDMON(D)SON, (children) Houston Grandville b ~1898 married Mabel MCARTHUR, Charlie b~1903 married Rosie Katherine SENTELL (3rd marriage), Joseph Wesley CARLOCK, (children) Ruby b ~1909 married 1st GRIMES, 2nd FURR, 3rd EANES, Hurbert/Herbert b ~1910 married Edna TEMPI ELGIN. Ruby's children are as follows: Ruby Jean GRIMES, Margaret FURR, Russell EANES, Carolyn EANES. She had two brothers, WAIN b ~1880 and JAMES b ~1884 GRANT. I found them listed in 1900 census for Welborn township, Conway County. They were enumerated with POLLY SITTERLEY b ~1858, listed as mother and head of house. She is listed as 42 years old, widowed, mother of 6 children with 3 living. I have a marriage license for Jim (Jas) GRANT to MRS. ALLIE WINTON August 7, 1903, Conway County. He is listed as 21 years living in Cardon Bottom in Yell County. She is listed as 25 same place. 2nd marriage for James GRANT to Josephine Vaughn Verden in Pope/Yell County. James died in 1926 buried in Brearly cemetery in Yell County. His death certificate lists his name as James H GRANT, born in Searcy County. Father's name is Andrew (born Mississippi?) and mother's maiden name is unknown. I have a marriage license for Wain (Wayne) GRANT to MATTIE GRAMBLE February 14, 1903, Conway County. He is listed as 23 years living in Atkins in Pope County. She is listed as 29 same place. James GRANT listed as head of household in the 1910 census for Wilson Township, Yell County. He is listed as 25 years old, divorced and married for 6 years. (The years were crossed out.) Also listed in this house is Polly SITTERLEY, mother, 50 years old, widowed, mother of 6 children with 3 living. And Myrtle MALONE, niece, 18 and single. Are any of these names familiar to anyone? There must be some descendents of these people living in Central Arkansas. Please put me in touch with some of them. Does anyone recognize the SITTERLEY name? Thank you for taking the time to read my post and ANY suggestions would be appreciated. 3. Perry County Researchers, My grandparents, Elizabeth MOORE and Benjamin F. LITTLETON lived in Perry Co., during 1877. I know this because I have a copy of a letter he wrote to his mother-in-law Roina Blake HARDIN, whose first husband Jesse L. MOORE, (Elizabeth’s father) died during the Civil War. She later married William R. THORNTON, and continued to live in Hot Spring Co., AR., until her death in 1928. Benjamin and Elizabeth were married in Hot Spring Co., in 1868; were in Hot Spring Co., in 1870, and in Yell Co., in 1880. At some time they moved to Perry Co. In his letter dated December 30, 1877, Ben speaks of bad winter weather, the cotton crop yield, and tells of moving soon to a new “place” he has purchased. 1st. question: Can someone who lives in or near Perry Co., do a look up for me. Is there a land transaction, sale, mortgage, etc., shown in Perry Co., records for Benjamin Franklin LITTLETON in the 1877-1878 time period? 2nd. question: I want to find a source of information on history, crops and prices, politics, churches, etc. in Perry Co., in that same time period. I am writing a history of Ben and Elizabeth for my great grandsons. It will be in the form of a diary of a year in the lives of these two pioneers. Can anyone refer me to a book, articles, or do you have other suggestions? Anything will be useful, I am starting from scratch!! Thank you Perry much, Marketta Pimentel in Madera, geographical center of CA.

February 4, 2000 For Immediate Release Contact: Tracey Converse [email protected] 501-835-7502 ARKANSAS' LARGEST FAMILY HISTORY ORGANIZATION OFFERS GENEALOGY CLASSES Little Rock-The Arkansas Family History Association recently announced a lecture series featuring national and regional speakers on how to trace your family tree. According to April 1999 issue of Time Magazine, family history research is one of the leading subject on the Internet. With the advent of the Internet, AFHA founder Desmond Walls Allen says, "Reconnecting distant family relations is now easier than before. Many folks find when they get on mailing lists that they have a distant cousin also researching the family." "Our website alone had 20,000 hits last month. Our staff of nationwide volunteers have done over 200 genealogy lookups in the last month." Designed to offer free membership and online lookups to people with Internet access, AFHA has grown to the largest genealogical organization in the state with over 1000 members worldwide. During just the first three weeks of this year, the AFHA Internet Mailing list saw over 700 messages posted about Arkansas history. "The phenomenal growth shows an incredible interest of the people of Arkansas to learn about their families past," said Allen. Education is a major goal of this organization. With monthly meetings held at the Central Arkansas Library's Main Branch, AFHA hopes to educate more people in the fine art of research. Tickets to the classes are $12 in advance and $10 for members. The class runs from 2-5 pm at the Main Library in Little Rock at 100 Rock Street. Monies raised will be used to support the Richard C. Butler Center for Arkansas Studies at the Central Arkansas Library. The February 20 meeting will feature regional lecturer Tracey Converse. Her topic will be "Surfing the Web for Cousins." She will provide insight into how to find your family information on the web. What search engines to use and how to share your information with others. Converse is also the web master for the Central Arkansas Library System and has been on the web for 5 years and researching her family history since 1983. Additional classes are slated for March 17, April 15, May 14, June 11 and July 30. Topics will include Newspaper Research, Beginning Genealogy, Civil War Records, and Native American Research. 2. Hello, my name is Nina. My husband (Jackie) does all the family research, but I am related (by marriage ) to some Harris's in Searcy County Arkansas. Talmage Harris lives at Dongola Ar. and has a son named Jimmie Dale Harris also. Jimmie still lives around there somewhere. You might get in touch with the court house in Marshall, which is the county seat. They might give you some background on the Harris family. There is a lot around that area. Jimmie Dale is my second cousin. My grandfather , Jim Smithson and his grandfather Garland Smithson is brothers. His mother , Marlie and my mother Syble is first cousins. But thats on the Smithson side. Good luck. Nina

    3. Hello list members -- First, I apologize for the length of this request. I do not know where she was born or who her parents were. The names I have are as follows: Dora Adaline GRANT (1st marriage), M MALONE, (children) Pearl b ~1893 married a HAIL/HALE, Myrtle b ~1892 married W F PAINE/PAYNE (2nd marriage), Noah Strong EDMON(D)SON, (children) Houston Grantson b ~1898 married Mabel MCARTHUR, Charlie b ~ 1903 married Rosie Katherine SENTELL (3rd marriage), Joseph Wesley CARLOCK, (children) Ruby b ~1909 married 1st GRIMES, 2nd FURR, 3rd EANES, Hurbert/Herbert b ~ 1910 married Edna TEMPI ELGIN. Ruby's children are as follows: Ruby Jean GRIMES, Margaret FURR, Russell EANES, Carolyn EANES. She had two brothers, WAIN b ~1880 and JAMES b ~ 1884 GRANT. I found them listed in 1900 soundex for Welborn township, Conway County. Does anyone recognize the SITTERLEY name? Thank you for taking the time to read my post and ANY suggestions would be appreciated.
