Posted on: Perry Co. Ar Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Ar/Perry/20 Surname: Pullen, Parlier, Harris, Canada, Wade ------------------------- My father, H.N. "Dick" Pullen, Jr. was born at Houston, Perry County, Arkansas on 07-22-1919 and three months later, was brought to Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas where he lived most of the rest of his life. He was the son of Homer Newton Pullen (b.1880 at Seney, Georgia/d. 1937 in Fort Worth) and Florene Mae Parlier (b. 1895 at Louisville, Ky./d. 1932 at Fort Worth.). Homer and Florene were first cousins and were married in the spring of 1915 in Memphis, Tennessee. Homer's first marriage was to Minnie Mae Keating of Dallas, Texas in 1905/6. Minnie deserted Homer and their daughter, Jewell, about 1906 or 1907,going to California. Homer's parents and relatives helped care for Jewell until her father married again. My concern is that while Florene lived with her parents in Conway, and Homer may have lived near there also, what "family" (if any) would have been around Houston in Perry County. I know of none. If you are even distantly related to any of these families, please contact me at [email protected] . Thanks in advance.

Yvonne the 1890 census was 99 percent distroyed in the fire of January, 1921. (6,160 entries still exist) where to find Census records? 1. National Archives-Washington,D.C. 2. Regional Archives- closest to Little Rock located in Fort Woth, Tx. & Atlanta, Ga. 3. State Archives- usually limited areas of census film are available. 4. Libraries- census availability varies. 5. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Family History Centers or the Family History Library in Salt Lake,UT-----offers all National Archives Film. hope this will help in your search. Hi Listmembers -- I need some information. I would like to know what resources are available for the 1890 era. I know that there isn't a census. I also know that SOME counties have tax lists. Is there some place that lists what is available? If not can you nice people help me out? These are the counties I am working in, Conway, Perry, Pope, Yell, Searcy, Lonoke. Hi listmember -- First I want to thank EVERYONE for the wonderful information I have been getting lately. It has been truly fabulous! However, I am going to keep pushing my limit. I hope to get some more information on these problems also. 1. I ordered a death certificate for Charlie Edmondson b 1880 d 1966. When I got the death certificate it is not my Charlie! Could someone look again in the Lonoke County cemetery books and check the death date. He is suppose to be buried in Mulberry Cemetery. However, I looked for a headstone in June and did not find him. Suggestions? 2. I found an obit on the Yell County obit page that I would like a copy of. Who do I contact to get it? There did not appear to be a place to request them. 3. I noticed a posting asking about obtaining the information referenced in Cathy Barnes book 1895 Gazette. I, too, would like to know how to obtain this information. Thank you to one and all for any information that I receive. yvonne ____________________________ Colorado Springs, Colorado reply to [email protected] web page: http://www.rmi.net/~henson Names I am researching: BRENT(S), GRANT, EDMON(D)SON, HENSON, MCARTHUR ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com.

As a new member, I am posting the following: If you are searching, or are familiar, with the PETITJEAN, PETTYJOHN, or PETTIJOHN surnames, we should talk. I have information that may help. Thank you, for your attention. [email protected] Paul& Lois Pettyjohn
Pat, I certainly agree with you about this name being unusal. I thought that it would be easy to research for that very reason but I was wrong. I sure am glad to find someone else researching the name. I only know of Ed. Huffstuttler. My uncle tells me that their were several in and around the Perry County area. He remembers one in particular that was "feeble minded." He told me the name but it escapes me at this moment. I will ask him and my Dad if they remember any mention of a John Huffstuttler. I will be more than happy to share any information with you that I come across. Carolyn
Thank you so much for the info....Carolyn
Carolyn, Do you have a John C. Huffstuttler in your line? My Greatgrandmother, Sarah May Redman Landrum from St. Francis Co., AR had a daughter by her first husband, Redman, and her name was P. Saller L. Redman. She was b. 1869 in St. Francis Co. and she married in St. Francis Co., a John C. Huffstuttler b. 1862. That's such an unusual name that I was hoping you might know. Thanks.
