    3. Thanks for the offer....I'm looking for the Harris and Blankenship families. Possibly a Charles Harris. Does anyone have access to the 1900 census for Perry County? I'm looking for a Leo William Harris or William Leo Harris and a Martha Blankenship. Leo was born in 1895. Martha, I'm not sure of. They would have married about 1920 or later. I show a child born 1923. By 1934, Leo was married again. I have no info on whether he and Martha divorced or if Martha had died. I will greatly appreciate any help that you can give me. These are my husband's grandparents and they seem to have appeared out of thin air. Thanks for your help....Pat ----- Original Message ----- From: deeno <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, October 20, 2001 3:42 PM Subject: [ARPERRY-L] 1880 census > Hello Perry Co cousins, > > We have certainly been quiet. 3. I don't know if we connect or not. I don't have a Sarah Jane Harris in my file. That doesn't mean there isn't one, it just means I don't have her. My Harris info is real sketchy, My John H. Harris was born in 1871, He had brothers, Charles and Thomas born about 1860 and 2 sisters, M. Fairlee Harris, born 1863 and Louisa A. born about 1871. This came off the census records....more children could have been born later. My biggest challenge is trying to track my Blankenship connection. Leo William Harris, grandson of John H. Harris, married Martha J. Blankenship who died in 1927. These were my husband's grandparents. Don't know if any of this helps, but stay in touch...one never knows what will come up. I noticed you email address....are you Cherokee? There's rumors in the family of Cherokee blood, but haven't pinned it down to anyone in particular. My gg grandfather is Elijah Joe Blankenship, he married Sarah Jane Harris, All that I know is that they had all of their children in Arkansas. There was 7 children I only know the name of 2 my g grandfather Almon Butler and Elijah C. I know that Elijah was in the 1900 Hill Co. Texas census with his mother Sarah and his wife Mary. Almon Butler passed away in Oklahoma in 1969. He said that his mother had a brother named Jim or maybe John and his wife was called Molly. Poppie (Almon) said that heused to go and stay with them alot when he was little. According to his obiturary he was born in 1863 but I think it was a miss-print because I think he was born in 1883.If any of this fits with any of your family I would love to add to my family tree information. Ar Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Ar/Perry/34 Surname: WOMACK, BASYE, CARTER, WALLS, LAWSON, CUNNINGHAM, FORD, RORIE, MEESE, JOHNSON, LEE ------------------------- My great great grandparents, Evaline Carater and James Baldwin Womack lived their later years in Moab (near Fouche La Fave River and Viney Grove Cemetery on Hwy 216). James was the son of Francis (Fannie) Basye and Larkin Womack. James and Evaline's children were: Rutha (Clayton Johnson) Mary Elizabeth (James O. Cunningham), William N. (Leota Elizabeth Lawson), Evaline, Lydia D. (Charles Meese) and Noah. There might be others. William (Bill) and Leota Elizabeth (Lizzie) also raised their family there. I have been told that Bill ran a farm near the river. He also raised racing horses for a Hot Springs doctor that owned the farm. Bill and Lizzie and some of their younger children moved on to Holdenville, Hughes County, OK in the early 1900's. My grandmother, Mary Frances Womack was their daughter. Mary Frances married Vernon Pinkney Walls in Perry County 23 Dec 1906. I remember relatives, Uncle Ose and Aunt Mary that lived in Houston. Does anyone have any connections to this family? 2. I live in Virginia now, but I grew up in Oklahoma. My mother was the granddaughter of Margaret's brother John Fearney Phillips, through his son Zachariah Hartless Phillips. She was born in Perry County, Arkansas, in 1906. Her family moved to Oklahoma in 1917 or 1918. Have you found any information about the Fearneyhoughs and the Pylands? I don't have much. I'm also trying to track ggrandfather John F. Phillips after he left his wife and three boys in Arkansas. I'm not sure when he left, but he was gone by 1880. He started another family somewhere, possibly Indiana according to my aunt. I don't know anything about Y. Henson except that it says Colorado under her name. I would love to see more information on John Howell, my gggf, he was Adona's first resident, named after one of his daughters. I would also love to see more information on William D. Please let me know if you have the information available, or if I need to find everything first before I send it to you. Thank you. Paula Moore Riggs

It also states that Mattie is the mother of 3 children with 3 living and that Lewis and Mattie have been married 12 years. I have a marriage license for Louis Gamble age 21 of Atkins and Martha Morgan age 19 of Atkins 5/31/1888 listed in Conway County. I have another marriage license for Wain Grant of Atkins and Mattie Gamble of Atkins 1903 Conway County. I have Wayne and Mattie in the 1910 and 1920 census for Hughes County Ok. Listed with them is a son Claude Grant. On the 1910 census Mattie is listed as the mother of 2 with 1 living. Now for the questions. I would like to locate a marriage license for unknown Morgan and Martha Taylor it should be about 1884. In any county between Randolph and Conway . I would like to establish that Martha's parents are Thomas "Tommy" Taylor and Mary Jane "Pop" Justice. They were from Randolph County Arkansas. I think her birth date is between 1868 and 1873. What happened to her Morgan husband and to Lewis Gamble? Did they divorce , die or quit the marriage? Why were her daughters not listed with her on the 1910 and 1920 census? Where were they? Why does she say she is the mother of 2 children on the 1910 census? What happened to Will Morgan? Does anyone have him in their line? I know Lori/Lura, Lona and Claude are deceased. They are all buried in the Holdenville Cemetery in OK. I have some emails from relatives but the information handed down is sketchy at best. If anyone has any suggestions or can help with any of these people I sure would appreciate it. This is about as far as I can go. Thanks in advance for all your help and have a great New Year with your research. yvonne ____________________________ Colorado Springs, Colorado reply to [email protected] web page: http://www.rmi.net/~henson Names I am researching: Main lines: BRENT(S), GRANT, EDMON(D)SON, HENSON, MCARTHUR Co-lateral lines: BRAZIL, CARLOCK, HARPER ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://home.netscape.com/webmail
