Hi Marjean, My name is Linnea and I just read your email. I think that I might be able to help you out a bit. We had a family reunion of our Douglas Cousins during the Columbus Day weekend. Cousins came in from all over the country. One of the places on our tour was a stop at the Old Washington Historic State Park. They had a tour, a historical re-enactment of a trial from the l800's and had a country style lunch at the Williams Tavern Restaurant. The Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives is located in the Park. They will be happy to send you a brochure. You can write to them at: Old Washington Historic State Park P>O> Box 98 Washington AR 7l862 Telephone: (870) 983-2684 Also I know that you will gain some useful information at the Ouachita County Library in Camden. They have a good Geneology section which includes, if I may add, an entire book on my Reader AR relatives, the Hesterly family. I hope that this will help. I almost forgot to mention the hours. The Park is open from 8 am to 5 pm year round except for Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Years Day. I just want to add that my brother, Keith, is the real geneology buff in the family. He is on vacation but I will save your email and perhaps he can add something to it. We have certainly met a lot of nice folks through the Ouachita County bulletin board. I hope this is of some help.
