Could I get a copy of that photo of William Bridges Howard, Sr. too? I didn't know you had one! ((Your Cousin Cathy)). P.S. I also have William's death date as "after 1860". I know you're aware that his father was Stephen Jr., grandfather was Stephen Sr., and great-grandparents were Obadiah & Priscilla Howard. But did you know that Obadiah is written up in history as one of the renowned founders of the 1770's Fairforest Creek Baptist Church in Union County, South Carolina (first Baptist church established in that part of SC). Obadiah died in Barren County, Kentucky, in 1804. Another interesting note is that in our Murphy line, the three sons of Reverend William Murphy--John, William Jr. & Joseph (our line)--were also connected to Obadiah Howard. All three of the Murphy brothers were Separatist Baptist ministers, and Joseph preached at Fairforest in its early days when Elder Obadiah Howard was there! Also, when Obadiah left SC in 1798 to go to Barren County KY (now Monroe County), John Murphy went there with him! It was at this son John's home in KY that the father Rev. William Murphy died in 1799 on his way back to TN from acquiring his land grant in Missouri. I just this week discovered this amazing connection between our Howards and our Murphys, who we never before realized had such early ties!! The world keeps getting smaller & smaller.
