I am researching the following surnames in the Ouachita and Nevada County Arkansas area: FLOYD, BUTLER, KIRBY (KEARBY), MOSELEY, ADAMS, CARTER, WOOD, MEADOR, WALLACE and others. Here is a little more information I am including both Nevada and Ouachita County since I have some information on most of them from both counties. Sam Rayburn Floyd b abt 1845 where unknown married Mary Butler (born Oct 18 1864) on May 4, 1885 in Ouachita County. He had been married before and had children. My grandfather Oscar Floyd was born to SR and Mary Floyd on Aug 13 1889. SR Floyd died when Oscar was a small child. Mary went on to marry Eliazer Wage then a Mr. Bratton. Mary's parents were Adam Butler and Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Kirby. Betty's father was Henry Kearby. Sam Rayburn Floyd is my stumbling block and I would love to have any information anyone might have, even a small clue. I have an 1880 Ouachita County, Liberty twp, census that shows a Samuel Floyd with family who managed the Ouachita County Poor House. The children names are similar but since I don't know his first wifes name I don't know if it is him. I have also found an Evan Floyd family with a son Samuel about the right age in the Locust Bayou Twp of the 1850 Ouachita Co census. Can't prove that either. Robert Giles Moseley born Feb 2 abt 1863 married Olivia Abbygail Adams on June 13 1885 in Nevada Co Arkansas. My grandmother Allie Myrtle Moseley Floyd was born to that union After RG Moseley's death 23 Aug 1904, Abbie married William H Parrish. Robert Giles Moseley was the son of Benjamin Giles Moseley and Francis Jane Carter. Benjamin Giles Carter was the son of Elisha Moseley and Mary Carter. Francis Jane Carter Moseley was the daughter of William John "Billy" Carter and Rebecca Meador. Olivia Abbygail "Abbie" Adams was the daughter of Theodore Franklin Adams and Nancy Jane Wood. Nancy was the daughter of Handy Wood and Nancy. Theodore was the son of Samuel E Adams (I think) and Jane C Wallace. (Census shows her to be right) Any help will be appriciated.. I have much more on most of the above lines including Bible records on the Moseleys and Carters and I will exchange what information I have.
