I have the census entries for 1860 for G.W. and for an A.D. House (I can't really tell if this is an A or not!), three residences away. There is also a young man named James T. House, age, 10,born TN, living in G.W.'s household that looks like maybe a younger brother or nephew. In 1870 there is a J.A.W. House living in my great great granduncle's household (James Andrew or Anderson Wood, b. 1837, AL also listed as Andrew or Anderson J.) that I think may be G.W.s son James A. James A. was three in 1860 and the JAW in 1870 is 13. Somewhere I have a marriage record for a James House and one of my Wood cousins from this household. These are all in Missouri Township, Ouachita County. This area becomes Missouri Township, Nevada County in 1871. You can email me direct if you like, but I'll post the census data here, too. If he joined a Cherokee Regiment there should be some records on him in the IT. Do you know which unit? Was it Watie's? Was he Cherokee? There weren't too many non-Cherokee except for the intermarried whites in the regiments. If he has Cherokee connections, we may be in luck. That is my grand passion for research and I have tons of information on them.
