George C.Owens Jr. husband of Glenda, Father of Carolyn, Diane, Cathy, and Debbie left them on March 15, 2002. He fought for his life to the end with honor and dignity. Born to George and Gladys Owens on September 6, 1925 in Bearden, Arkansas, he entered into WWII at the age of 16 and served in the Pacific campaign as a member of the Coast Guard. Upon graduating from Louisiana Tech, he embarked on an outstanding career as an accountant. He was known for his honesty throughout all aspects of his life. He leaves one brother, Bobby W. Owens, and sister-in-law Jenny Owens, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. His three sons-in-law, David McCarter, James Newberry, and Robert Montgomery also survive him. He will be especially missed by his seven beloved grandchildren, Amy McCarter Pembrook, Holly McCarter, Gregory Jones, James Newberry, Tamra Newberry, Melissa Montgomery, and Travis Pembrook. Most important he was a man who loved his wife and children. He leaves us in peace for a better place! , but we cherish his memory. Memorial services will be private. Burial will be in Arkansas.
