Sayre, has visited this location and we do have some photos which he will share when I locate them! Gene says there was a railroad man (executive who designated that spot on the OK map!) for whom Sayre, OK was named and that it was happenstance and has nothing to do with any family being settled there. We have visited Sayre, PA - Sayre, AL and have another photo of him on Sayre Road in Washington D.C. area (VA- actually). There is also a Sayresville Road - Gallatin Co., KY that went by the farm of his great great grandfather James Harvey Sayre and Sarah G. "Sally" Holton. (I have photos and there is one grave marker left -- just off the road on private property; but, well attended -- a daughter if I recall correctly) If you have any information on this family branch we would love to compare data.
