Ray, You flatterer! About Mt. Horeb Cemetery.....I've been there and did about two hours of canvassing, but we had to leave because of the heat. It means I didn't even get half of the old section of the cemetery done. I like to start on the oldest part of the cemetery first. Normally it hasn't been a problem, we seek the shelter of a tree to take breaks. Unfortunately there isn't even a bush in Mt. Horeb Cemetery. And the ants........they are so bad, my husband thought I was dancing out there. The whole place is one giant ant bed! I plan to go back when the weather is cooler, I can wear some boots and find a bigger stick. Now, that should make a cute picture. <g> :o) Debbra Szymanski Arkansas State Coordinator USGenExchange http://www.genexchange.org/state.cfm?state=ar ----- Original Message ----- From: RayShirleyMack <RayShirleyMack@email.msn.com> To: <AROUACHI-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 12, 2002 11:27 AM Subject: Re: [AROUACHI] Mt Horeb Cemetery > Debbra: > > Could you send me a recap of the famlies buried in Mt Horeb Cemetery? > > It sure is nice having you and your cohosts around. > > Ray > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Debbra Szymanski" <deb@arkansas.net> > To: <AROUACHI-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, August 11, 2002 7:16 PM > Subject: Re: [AROUACHI] Mt Horeb Cemetery > > > > Larry, > > When you leave Camden going south on Highway 7 towards Louann, you will > turn > > left on Ouachita 64 and travel about a mile. Hi once again, Debbra: The reason I am asking is that my ggrandfather John Massey and his family lived in Frenchport starting c1845/1846. They came from Russel Co, AL c1845/1846. My prior research convinced me that he was John Massey, son of Elias Massey. A fellow person finally challenged me saying he was not my John Massey. I cannot even find where his family is buried around Frenchport. I have been looking for info in the cemetery info you have been sending out. My grandfather was William Jennings Massey who married my grandmother Ella Geneva McCraw of Falcon. I cannot even find my grandfathers gravae supposedly near Lewisville as they lived there until he died in 1894. Mt Horeb Cemetery is the only one I knew of that I had not canvased yet, so I am waiting on pins and needles. John Massey and family lived in northeast edge of Frenchport. I would be most happy for anyone who is descended from the Elias Massey of Lancaster, SC, to help me in the hunt. In 1830 Census he was in Stewart Co (from old Randolph Co, GA); in 1840 Census he was in Russell Co, AL; and in 1850 census in Frenchport, Ouachita Co, AR. Would appreciate any input from anyone caring. Believe it or not, my grandfather William Jennings Massey was born in 1826 in SC. Ray Mack Camarillo, CA born and raised in McKinney, Collin Co, TX. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Debbra Szymanski" <deb@arkansas.net> To: <AROUACHI-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 12, 2002 11:28 AM Subject: Re: [AROUACHI] Mt Horeb Cemetery > Ray, > You flatterer!
