Marjean, I prepared a family tree some years ago on the Rushing family for Mary Garland Wylie. She had Darling's civil war sword then. Mrs. Wylie has since passed away. Her understanding of family tradition was that Darling died during the war somewhere on the White River. I have since found that he died on April 1, 1862 at the hospital in Little Rock. I have not found a burial place for him.
