    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/XV.2ADI/444 Message Board Post: Goodspeed's 1890 "Memoirs of Southern Arkansas" includes a profile on ANDREW J. JONES (that may have also gone by the nickname of "BUCK" JONES). I'm looking for more info about this Andrew to help answer this question. Per Goodspeed's profile, Andrew J. JONES was a farmer with 120 acres of highly cultivated land in Ouachita County in 1890, and he was born there in 1853. He married Malinda E. NICHOLS of Nevada County AR on Jan 14, 1874 (Malinda's parents were John & Elvira NICHOLS). Andrew & Malinda had 5 children: Urilla L., William, Hettie A., Cordelia and Cleveland JONES. Andrew J. JONES was the son of James JONES (b: SC, d: 1884) and Mary MOSELEY (b: SC, d: 1886). This family had come to Arkansas in 1848 from Alabama and were Baptists. Andrew had 12 brothers and sisters, including: Lucinda C. JONES who married E. H. FRISBY, Hilda A. JONES who married William COX (Ouachita County Judge & Baptist minister), and Susanna C. JONES who married Andrew R. RIDGELL. I am descended through the COX and FRISBY families that married into this JONES group. The BUCK JONES I'm seeking lived near or in Union County's Junction City by 1903, as did the Reverend William Cox mentioned here. Please let me know if you have additional information on "BUCK" JONES or any of these other JONES family members or associated folks. cathy@dustyroads.net
