Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XV.2ADI/818 Message Board Post: I'm looking for information on the James Archie Williams family. He married Melissa Elizabeth Bell and had one daughter Helen Williams. No other known children but her. Does anyone know what happened to Helen and Melissa Elizabeth after James Archie Williams died? My Williams family was originally from Johnson Co Arkansas and moved to Ouachita Co because my Great Great Grandfather, James Archie Williams and William Harrison Williams all worked for the Railroads in the Lumber Camps around Arkansas. James Archie Williams, Melissa Elizabeth Bell and Helen were most likely from the Bearden Area and James Archie is buried in Salem Cemetery. Thanks to anyone who can help! Kristen [email protected]

    1. Roberts/Howard
    2. Kris Akin
    3. Hello everyone, I am researching my Howard/Roberts line. I have a lead that makes me think I might be able to find more information on my family in Ouachita County. I am researching my Great Grandmother Jessie Howard. I cannot find anything in Concrete (just what I have found on the web)stating where she was born or who her parents were. I have my grandfather death cert stating that her mother was born in Arkansas. The names I am searching for are Darthula (Dorthy) Roberts born about 1870 and John Lewis Howard was born on 14 Nov 1847 in , , Ar. They are who I believe to be Jessie's parents. Jessie was born 7 Dec 1892 and Died in Prescott Arizona. Jessie had two sisters Della and Bessie. I do not have much information on Bessie, but for Della I have she was born on 25 Oct 1889 in Reader, Ouachita County, Arkansas . She died on 5 Feb 1974 in , Little Rock, Ar. She was buried on 7 Feb 1974 in Roselawn Memorial Park, Little Rock, Ar. She married Charles Henry STARKS. I was told by my great aunt that she remembers stories being told to her, that Jessie's parents had died when she young, and was raised by her maternal grandparents (Roberts). That is where I stand for information on the Roberts. Could some kind sole help me out. I have lots of information on John Lewis Howard if he is infact the correct person. Thanks in advance. 1. Surnames: Alsobrook, East, Rogers, Morgan
    2. Gail Banes
    3. I am looking for Thomas and Mary Alsobrook who lived in Caney and appear on the 1870 census. I believe that my ggrandmother, Amanda East, (African American) was a servant in their household. Her young son, Billy, born in 1868, also appears on the census. She is listed as ''widow', at age 20. By the 1880's she was living in Camden and working as a servant in the household of the David Felsenthal family and had had four more children, all last name EAST. Also, Martha Morgan, my gggrandmother was either half black & half white or half indian and half white. She was brought to Camden by her owner as a little girl, from Tennessee. Her half sister, Kate Rogers, (I think this is her married name) also lived in Camden. Martha married Isom?Isham Morgan before 1870 because they appear together on that census. She already had a son Will Hodges (in 1863) before they were married. She lived to be 102, she was born in 1925. Anyone know anything about these folks? Any assistance or suggestions would be appreciated. gail h. banes Cleveland, OH Try Everything, You Have Time Gail H. Banes [email protected]

I think you need to talk to either James Clemons or Carolyn Cox. I think they are both related to some of the Ouachita Co. Clemons. I'm not sure about Columbus Clemons and wife Betty Clemons, but I did find out that Columbus Clemons and wife Harriet were African American. I don't remember how I came up with Betty Rance Clemons name, but it was probably out of a marr. records book cause I haven't been able to find out anything about her or the others I listed. I havne't been able to work on this for some time, so I'm a little rusty on who was who. lol If you find out anything about this Betty Rance Clemons, I would appreciate it if you would let me know. And I'll do the same. Thanks, Dawn

    1. Marriage record lookup please
    2. levans
    3. Is there anyone on the list that could do a lookup up for me at the courthouse in Camden. I was there last week and found the record for Ellis OTWELL and Lizzie SINKS who was born a FLOYD. In my excitement over finding the record I forgot to write down the information since I was getting a copy To make a long story short that one did not get copied. The clerks were very nice and helpful and will copy it for me if I can find the book and page and date again (which I did not have) I know I searched around 1896 and found Ellis Otwell in the groom index of the record book. I did not find a previous record of Lizzie Floyd to a Mr. Sinks but did know whe was married before Otwell. If anyone could help I would be very appreciative. Thanks Lois Evans

    1. Hayes/Hays Family - African American in Camden
    2. Gail Banes
    3. Anyone have any information on the Amanda East Hayes/Hays children? She married Seabron/Cebron Hayes/Hays in 1883. She already had five children at that time, all with the last name EAST. When she married Cebron Hays/Hayes, she changed all of their names to his. The children were William/Billy, Dan, Henry, James, and Mary/Mamie. Also, I wonder if she and Cebron Hays had any children? He married Caroline Walker in 1879, a few years before he married Amanda. I assumed that she passed away not too long after, since he remarried four years later. gail hayes banes Try Everything, You Have Time Gail H. Banes [email protected]
