Ok..Let me run back into Heritage Quest and look at 1870 Ouachita County. You know when I first read your post and saw the death estimate I immediately thought a civil war soldier, and his son William being 20 would have been of eligible age to go too. Remember the name I said I couldn't make out in the 1860 census in the younger John's house. the 7 year old male. I thought I could make out the name Isham Parker age 7 but I didn't post that. Well low and behold in the 1870 census there is a 15 year old Isham Parker in the house of Mr. R. H. Elliot. Wondering out loud if this is that one in the same 7 year old boy who's dad was 24 in 1860 went off to the civil war and didn't come back alive. By the way, the Elliot family had also taken in an 11 girl by the name of Christian Murphy. Parker (f) age 38 keeping house John Parker (m) 17 Henry (m) 15 Albert (m) 10 Monroe (m) 8 Robert (m) age 7 months The Sarah Parker you see up there is living in the next house but not as head of household. She is listed as the fifth person and a young daughter under her name age 6 Missouri Parker. Sorry this doesn't answer your question about what happened to John Parker and William Parker. Be careful if you request John's military records. there were two John Parker(s) from Camden. * I assume you've seen the bio on the other one from TN on the Ouachita County AR GEN WEB page. Surprisingly, John PARKER is not a common name in Ouachita Co, AR. Deceased and buried and marked there are: John Hobson PARKER - 04 Apr 1872-28 Aug 1937, Greenwood Cemetery Annex, Camden, AR. John Nun PARKER - 1840 - 1913, Oakland Cemetery (also referred to as "Confederate" Cemetery. There are dozens of PARKERs in a dozen cemeteries, but none fitting your description. More specific, I'm looking for Elizabeth Mary Cooper's family. Elizabeth Mary (b. Oct 12, 1847 Camden, Arkansas; d. Feb 25, 1937 Greenville, Hunt County, Texas) was married to George W. Pemberton (b. bet. 1840-1841 in MO or MS; d. Jan 20, 1899 in Texas) on Sept 17 1864 according to the Cofederate pension application dated Sept 30, 1899. According to her Obit, she was married Sept 17, 1865. I'm aware that the county court house burned to the ground in 1875, but I'm hoping that there are some records some where w/ this information.
