My Mother, Florine Benson, has done most of our genealogy and I am attempting to extend her work. Sabrina Florence Arney was my Great Grandmother. And we were told that she was full-blooded native American and was adopted by the Arneys. However, I have a photo of her and she has European features so I suspect she was possibly half American Indian. It was said that she was Cherokee. Her son, my Grandfather Jonathan H. Benson, was said to have been offer admission into the Cherokee Nation Roles but refused. That's all the family lore I have at this time.
