I had asked "Can someone tell me what a "white smith" was?" This is the responses I have gotten: 'Whitesmith one who finishes and polishes; tinsmith" 'A "whitesmith" was and is a metal smith who works in tin (white metal). This is an older term usally replaced by "tin smith." The word is from a distinction between black metal (iron) and white metal (tin) workers.' I thought maybe it had something to do with working with silver but did not know if that was correct or not. I sure appreciate the help and knowledge!! Kathy
