sorry I am lookin for any connections Thomas E. CHAPMAN's parents are Andrew Jackson CHAPMAN and Jane /Janett MCGEE/MCGEHEE and they came to northern Arkansas from White co. Illinois sometime between 1850cenusu and 1860 cenus. Andrew's parents are Samuel CHAPMAN and Christenia CHANEY originaly from NC and VA, then to TENN in 1816 or so before moving on to white co.ILL. I have begun to make some interesting connections thoday. I just wish I could find them all in this mess I have today! But maybe someone out there can see the connections and assist me. This covers a number of Arkansas counties including Newton, Carroll, Johnson, Marion and Fulton Co. (and some of Missouri which I did not include). I was reviewing my ggrandfather, Thomas E. CHAPMAN's pension file( he is the father of William F. CHAPMAN who married Martha Jane MCENTIRE in Marion Co. ARK, who you looked up for me ) anyway the name MCPHERSON jumped out at me from it! and I was off.... On his Declaration for Original Invalid Pension , It listed the company he was it and who commanded it. Co. E. 2nd Reg. of ARK inf. USA , commanded by A. R. MCPHERSON also listed in the company were MCPHERSON, Ambrose R. Pvt age 33 MCPHERSON, William F. PVT age 30 MCPHERSON, William L. PVT age 23 I have received information from another researcher about my great-grandfather's second wife ,and my grandfather's half sister ,that focus this even more for us. Thomas E. Martha Jane Fults and her sister Catherine Fults who married Braxton Casey, Newton Co. ARK are the daughters of Gabriel "Gabe" FULTS and Elizabeth "ELIZA" Jane MCPHERSON. CHAPMAN's first wife was Sarah Jane MCENTIRE and her father, Lore nzo MCENITRE's mother was Elizabeth WILEY Now to Tomas E. CHAPMAN's first wife: Lousetta Mainer who died 1880, Johnson Co. buried near Clarksville. I suspect her last name was Maynard... Abner Elseberry "Berry" CASEY married Phoebe Priscilla Jane WHITELY born 1822 is the daughter of Samuel WHITELY and Lucy MAYNARD. also Lucy Ellen CHAPMAN, b. 1881, daughter of James and Easter (Dill) CHAPMAN married Henry Grant Coatney(But I caanot yet link them up( lost the material today..babysitting with my new grandbaby-3moths old.) As you folks can see it is very intertwined. ( i have the same problems on my mother's mother's side!!) Mom is a CHAPMAN!! Somebody out there want to help me out?????
