    3. This is about all I know about our Riggs. I know somewhere out there there must be a name for Mr. Riggs! Mahala __?__ was born 1825-1826 in Indiana; died 1/19/1877 in Newton County, Arkansas. She married Mr. Riggs before 1841 in Indiana or Missouri. We have no marriage records. Mr. Riggs died about 1859 probably in Jefferson Twp., Carroll County, Arkansas, which is now located in Boone County. Mahala and Mr. Riggs had the following children: i. James A. Riggs, born 1841 in Missouri; died 3/13/1866 in Wilcoxon, Newton County, Arkansas, died from wound inflicted during Civil War; married Nancy A. Harp 8/24/1862 in Newton County, Arkansas. ii. Benjamin F. Riggs, born Abt 1843 in Missouri, possibly Tany County; died 9/15/1864 in Newton County, Arkansas, killed in action in Civil War. iii. Robert Riggs, born 1845-1847 in Stone County, Missouri; nothing else is known, other than he served in the Civil War. iv. Jane Riggs, born 1850 in Missouri; died Unknown in Newton County, Arkansas ?; married John Skaggs 9/11/1868 in Newton County, Arkansas. v. Thomas Benton Riggs, born 3/17/1852 in Missouri; died 3/19/1927 in Newton County, Arkansas; married Gracie Jane Armstrong 3/08/1875 in Newton County, Arkansas. vi. William Riggs, born Abt 1854 in Arkansas, possibly Carroll County; died in Newton County, Arkansas ?; married Malinda McGowen 2/15/1877 in Newton, Newton County, Arkansas. Nothing else is known. vii. George Riggs, born 1855-1856 in Arkansas, possibly Carroll County. viii. Nancy Ann Riggs, born 2/07/1860 in Mt. Pleasant, Jefferson Township, Carroll County, AR; died 3/20/1943 in Newton County, Arkansas; married Allen T. Tennison 12/24/1877 in Newton County, Arkansas.These are my great grandparents. Charlene
