To answer a few of the questions that has been asked: John had contacted me and mentioned he would like to have a Newton Co homepage and wanted to know where he might locate one. What made my decision to offer him USGenWeb Project Newton Co. was that he lived much closer to Jasper and would be able to better serve the county. This has been a great county for me - I have had great support and help to make Newton Co what it is. <Carroll Co., AR next door needs the same attention. Wish I had the time.> I did not realize that Carroll Co was up for adoption. Maintaining a county does not take a lot of time - you just have to set aside a little time a month. Most coordinators update once a month. There are many help lines that are there to help you with html's. When I first started with the counties I knew how to turn on the computer and scared to death to turn it off for fear I would lose something. And if I can learn anyone else will be a breeze at it. And John downloaded a program How to Learn HTML's in 24 hours. And the work I have seen that he has done - he has learned very well in such a short time. So when anyone sees a county in need of being online - couldn't we take a couple of hours we spend watching tv during the month and put it to good use?! < When is that fair in Leslie I would like to attend...> The North Ar Ancestor Fair is June 3-5 in Leslie, Ar. Thurs at the Marshall restaurant Susan Young will give a lecture on cemetery history and folklore in the Qzarks. The Wendell & Elizabeth Norton will tell the proper way to care for, restore and clean tombstones and cemeteries as well as the bad ways.
