2. Hello Bill, Per the Civil War Union Soldiers Index, Capt John McCoy, age 43, was born in Hawkins Co.TN in 1820. He enlisted in Co. F, First Arkansas Infantry on 10 March 1863 in Newton Co.AR. John McCoy later moved to Christian Co.MO. Found him on the 1870 census with wife Elizabeth (Jones?) and children John J, George W, Mary F, Andrew J, Margaret J and Rebecca C McCoy. His daughter Martha Ellen and husband Samuel Issac Workman lived close by in Linn Township, Visit 58. Capt John McCoy died in Missouri but cannot find my record at the present time of the cemetery he is buried in. He is not listed in the Arkansas Union Soldiers Pension Book Index. Referring to your ancestor: William R Seaboalt, age 36, born Kentucky, enlisted in Co. F, First Arkansas Infantry(Union) on 10 June 1863 at Springfield, MO. William R Seaboalt applied for invalid pension in 1892. William is not listed in the death date and place index in the Union Soldiers Pension Index. If you have not sent for his COMPLETE Civil War Pension file, I urge you to do so. The complete file costs $37 at the present time and contains so much more than the regular file. They usually contain the wife's maiden name, place and date of marriage, and a list of the childrens names. Also where he lived since his discharge from the Service; if he were wounded; physical exams by doctors to prove his disability, and much more. And, of course, affidavits by men who served with him in the Service. There was also a William A Seabolt, age 27, born in McMinn Co.TN who enlisted in Co. C, Third Arkansas Cavalry(Union) on 25 Oct 1863 in Perry Co.AR. This William Seabolt's widow signed for his Civil War Pension in 1890. You can send for your Union Civil War Military and Pension records by sending a request to the NARA(National Archives). Go to their website: National Archives For you Civil War buffs, there is a web site for the Official Records of the War of Rebellion (Civil War) wherein you can read about many things pertaining to the Civil War. The War of the Rebellion in Cornell University's Making of America Evelyn Flood Rkinfolks@aol.com
