Hi Edith; Welcome to the list. Cave Creek is about 20 miles east of Jasper, and 6 miles east of Mt. Judea. Cave Creek runs through a long valley. Bass is toward the head of the creek then a couple of miles north of Bass is the Thompson place which is near where Ben's Branch runs into Cave Creek. If I am remembering correctly James Samuel Stevens' place was on the East side of Cave Creek about 1 1/2 miles from the creek. One of Sam's grandsons (Dason Hensley) was married to my mother's sister and other folks in the area are descended from Sam and his first wife Mary McGeehee. Sam's second wife was Tabitha Adeline McCutcheon, sister to my great-grandfather John McCutcheon. My home is in the Cave Creek community and my parents live on the old Thompson place. There is a cave on the Thompson place where Salt Peter was mined and I believe there was a led mine either on or near the property. Some of the old lead and zinc mines would not be very far from the Sam Stevens place. I am not sure where the Riggs place was, but I believe there are Riggs buried in the Rosamond Cemetery between Cave Creek and Lurton. Hope this helps. Donna Dodson
