Luther P Phillips served in Co. K, First Arkansas Cavalry(Union) in the Civil War. The index of Union Soldiers states he was 28 when he enlisted on 25 July 1862 in Carroll Co.AR. It does not give his birth state. His widow signed for his pension in 1864, so that means he died before the war was over. There is no indication he died in Service,per the Pension Records Index.
