    1. I want you to have the first announcement
    2. I will be leaving in a couple hours for GenTech in Mesquite, TX. But I wanted you all to be the first to know since this will be my first conference and want you to know of the changes. I recently purchased Census View ( http://www.galstar.com/~censusvu/ ) The URL will stay the same but this next week changes will be made to the website with my address and phone number etc. I will soon be making new titles...but at this time will only put request of what anyone wants done on file. I hope to serve and give you the quality that Gary & Nancy have done in the past years. I will miss their company at the seminars but wish them well. I will continue with Genealogy Shoppe. If you get to attend GenTech please stop by and say hello. USGenWeb Project volunteers will have a booth. Please stop and visit with them too. Remember they are all volunteers and some are traveling a distance to attend...at their own expense. I hope to post all the new information that has been sent to me for the websites within the next couple of weeks. Good luck in your search! Kathy Stokes Hudson

    1. [ARNEWTON] About Virus Warnings
    2. RootsWeb does not allow attachments to come thru the lists...HOWEVER if someone on this list is infected and you are in their address book many virus's will send out the attachment to everyone in their address book. I can tell you I am getting many "rejected" emails from RootsWeb that show it would have had the Snow White and the Seven Dwarf's attachment. BUT again RootsWeb does NOT allow attachments to go thru their mailing lists..they are REJECTED. Every year at this time there are many virus's that are sent out. So be cautious and even if you know the person before you open a ".exe" attachement contact them and see if it is safe. Good luck in your search and be cautious Kathy

    1. Re: [ARNEWTON] Essex-Heydenriech
    2. George Essex's date of death is 21Jan1989. >From Newton County Times Newspaper clipping: "George Essex, aged 97, of the Newton County Nursing Home, died Saturday,January 21, at North Arkansas Medical Center. He was born October 19,1891 at Red Rock, the son of Esquire and Sarah Shatswell Essex. He was a farmer and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Funeral was Monday,January 23, at the Crossroads Church with Boyd Spencer officiating. Burial was in Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel". An added clipping I collected was interesting: "Estel Brown of Oklahoma City, Mildred Sikes, of Haskell and Blanche Wisbaum of Tulsa, visited some of their cousins while they were here for the funeral of their uncle George Essex, last week. They are the daughters of the late Oliver and Tilda Essex Cheatham. They went to Oklahoma in a covered wagon when Blanche was months old. Estel and Mildred remember the long trip". If one wants to send for George's death certificate, he died at North Arkansas Medical Center which is in Boone County,AR. So many people go to Boone County to the North Arkansas Medical Center and when sending for a death certificate for a Newton County person, I find you have to put down the county they died in.......not Newton County.
