Surnames: CASEY, MARTIN, FERGUSON, CARPENTER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/xV.2ADE/541 Message Board Post: Does anyone have any information on Harvey CASEY and Sarah Isabelle "Belle" MARTIN? This Casey family lived in Newton County from 1900 thru at least 1930. Harvey and Sarah "Belle" married on Oct. 21, 1877 in Jasper Co. IL . Sarah "Belle" was born in Indiana between 1860-1861. Her mother was Eliza Jane Unknown. I have no idea who Belle's father is. Mother Eliza Jane "?" Martin remarried to a James S. Carpenter on Oct. 19, 1869; also in Jasper Co, IL. Harvey Casey was born abt 1855 in Indiana to Thomas A CASEY and Malinda FERGUSON. In 1880, "Belle" is listed with husband Harvy Casey in Willow Hill, Jasper Co, IL. In 1900, they are found in Newton Co AR. Belle must have died between 1900-1910, because on the 1910 census for Newton CO AR Harvy Casey is listed with another wife (marriage number 3 for him). I would like to find out where Sarah "Belle" Martin Casey (died between 1900-1910) and Harvey (died after 1930) are buried, etc. I know they should be buried in Newton County somewhere. Any help that anyone can give would be greatly appreciated ! ! Thanks in advance.

The following is a list of the dates that the States started furnishing birth and death certificates. The first date are Birth Certificates. The second date are Death Certificates However, not all counties complied with the law and Arkansas was one of the states which did not furnish birth and death certificates until way up in the 1930s and 1940s in many counties. In Newton County, Arkansas, many people went to the nearest hospital which was in Boone County and therefore, when sending for a death certicate, you need to take into account that the death certificate may be in an adjoining county such as Boone, Pope or even in Springfield, Missouri. Funeral homes in the areas are a good source of information. =========================== State Birth Death Records Alabama Jan 1908 Jan 1908 Alaska Jan 1913 Jan 1913 Arizona July 1909 July 1909 Arkansas Feb 1914 Feb 1914 California July 1905 July 1905 Colorado 1907 1907 Connecticut July 1897 July 1897 Delaware 1861-1863 1861-1863 District of C. Both Carter and Hudson are very old Newton County names. The Pernice Paralee could be from almost any family. Most families duplicated the names. The children listed below living in the household with Mary Douthet are actually not Coopers but Boens - at least in 1860 and all census records from there forward they are Boens. Have no idea why they are shown as Coopers. Mary Hodge Boen Douthet was the 3rd wife of my ggggrandfather Levi Self.
