Just thought I would let everyone know that I am putting the 1910 Newton County Arkansas Census that my cousin Lori and I transcribed on my website (address is below). I will also be putting the 1900 Newton County Census that Lori and I also transcribed on my website as well. The census is FREE to all those that want to view it. And if you would like a CD or a printed copy (for a small fee), please give me a holler. I should have the 1910 complete in a few days. Carri www.cuzncarri.com

I do have a copy of a Henderson family tree posted on the internet that I can send you if you want it. It includes James and Susan Henderson. I also have a question. There was a Joseph Henderson in this particular family who married a G. A. Norton. Do you have any information about them? They adopted a boy named Edward Bell. I am searching for him also. Thanks. Ray

Hello to all, I promised to let you all know the out come of this and I am writing to let you know that they found the girl yesterday afternnoon. Joshua and Ashley can now be laid to rest and hopefully her mother can now try to find some peace of mind. It won't be easy, but with God, our family and all the support she is recieving, hopefully she will be alright. This will be my last post on this subject. I would like to thank the list managers for allowing me to post these e-mails. If it was'nt for all the responses and support from everyone who was concerned I would not have continued to post. To all who have sent their prayers and support, I want you to know that you have helped to make a very difficult time a little easier. I know that their mother has appreciated everything and I am sure that Joshua and Ashley heard all the prayers for them also. Right now it looks like a Service is being held for them Friday. Thank you all again for the love you have all shared. Sandy noordhof@swbell.net
Land records are a good source for your ancestor's family history. Many people do not realize how much information is in these files. Homestead case files are rich in genealogical information. The final certificate usually includes: 1. The Homestead Application 2. Certificate of publication of intent to complete claim. 3. Final proof of homesteading which includes witnesses. 4. Final document which authorizes land patent. 5. Certified copy of naturalization papers, if the applicant was not a citizen. The Final Proof documents give: Claimants name; age; postoffice address; describes the tract and the home. Date of establishment of residence. The number and relationship of the members of the family and note citizenship. Crops. Acres under cultivation. Testimony of witnesses. The following states are indexed. Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Nevada and Utah (before 1908). There are no indexes available for: California, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Wyoming (before 1908). Name Indexes also DO NOT exist for the following states: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin (before 1908). To order Land Entry Files the following information is required: Name of settler or entryman. State in which land is located. Approximate date of entry Legal Description of land OR the type of file, the name of the land office that issued the file, and the land entry file number. This information can usually be obtained from the county recorder of deeds where the land was located. The more information you can supply, the chances are greater that you will receive the homestead papers of your ancestors. In the Newton County area, the land office was usually Harrison, Arkansas. You MUST ORDER using NATF Form 84. Land Entry Files- NATF Form 84 To order the forms by E-mail the address is: <inquire@nara.gov> or write National Archives and Records Administration Attention: NWCTB 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20408-0001 I ordered my grandparent's Homestead Papers following the rules above and was pleasantly surprised at the information that was in the file. Improvements from the time they started their claim to the final filing of papers were noted. Also ordered other Homestead Papers for relatives who lived in Arkansas. But a legal description of the land is required. If you have anyone who homesteaded in Newton County, Arkansas, I can look them up in my Index Book and give you the legal description of the land. Hello to all, Again I must thank everyone for their support. Alot of people have been writing me for details and I have not had them until now. I must warn that if you are faint hearted to delete this message now. I am writing this through many tears. Joshua was found about 7 am by 2 fishermen at the Des Plains River in Ill. near Joliet not in Mich. like I was told earlier. This was not told on the news , but the family gets the terrible details. he was shot in the head and a chain was wrapped around him to wiegh him down. Odds are the same was done to his sister but she is yet to be found. My husband is beside himself along with the rest of the family. I am passing all messages to the mother in hopes of sending her some comfort. The best place to go for info would be www.google.com go to news and type in Gleeson. All newspaper articles can be found there up to date. I am sorry to send this, but as I said, some people have been asking. Again, we appreciate all the support and prayers. Sandy noordhof@swbell.net

hello to all, I just wanted to let everyone know that they caught Patrick Gleeson at 11:30 last night in Daytona Beach, Florida, but they still have not found the children. It is not looking good, so I am asking that everyone say a prayer for Ashley and Joshua and also for their mother so she can have strength to get through this. Thank you Sandy noordhof@swbell.net
