Irene R. Baughman 70 of Rose Ok died Sept 20th of Heart attack. Funeral held Chapel of the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. Irene Cowles was born Jan 27th, 1933 at Harrison. Dau of Aubura Cowles and Vernia Fiveash Cowles. Grew up in the Hasty area. Married Clayton Baughnam in 1953. Lived in the Tulsa, and Rose Ok area. Survivors are Husband Clayton, 2 sons Bill and Alan Baughman, two granddaughters, Julie Clay and Jennifer Baughman one great grandson Matthew Clay. Brothers John Cowles of Cassville Mo. Sisters Ruby Watters of Harrison Ark, Winnie Norton of Kansas City Mo and Annie Lee of Western Grove. Preceded in death by 1 brother, Ray Cowles. and her parents. While researching on family of Calloway H. BROWN who married a Martha LONG in Miller co.,MO in 1874 and promptly fell off the face of the earth (or so it seems)-I came across this Calaway H. BROWN. He married a Martha Virgina NICHOLS Dec. 25, 1875 in Newton Co., Ar. I was wondering if anyone had the above couple and might be able to assist me on determining if this Calaway is MY Calloway! It is a very rural part of the county. I'm not sure exactly which cemeteries are located in this district. I do have a cemetery book for Newton County and will be glad to check it for the people you are looking for. Another suggestion, I know that some of the cemeteries from Madison and part of Newton County have been placed on FindAGrave.com You might check there and ask for Newton Co. cemetery list and see what you find. If I remember right, when you ask for a search for a cemetery, there is a place to click for all cemeteries in one county.
