I want to let everyone know that I made the changes for the subject line. So no need for you to type in ARNEWTON in the subject area. Thank you Kathy
I want to welcome everyone personally to the list. I hope it helps you in gathering information on your family lines and on Newton Co., Ar. If you should have problems with the list in any way please contact me directly at HudsonK@aol.com. I asked in the welcome letter that you place somewhere in the subject line ArNewton. The reason for this is there were many mailing lists before. And now with the counties having lists, email can get rather hectic if you are on several lists. A common complaint I have seen on the list is people only list John Doe in the subject area. There may be 1000 John Doe's all over the US so people like to know the location of this John Doe. I myself being on several mailing lists and maintaining several counties, use my delete button quite a bit if I do not see anything pertaining to my family genealogy, websites, and my family knows to put their name or mine in the subject area or I delete. I think I read where I can make adjustments to where this can be automatically placed in the subject line. But give me a bit for further research on it. I am a newbie with maintaining the mailing lists. So if you have any suggestions or comments please let me know. If you have not been to the Newton Co. website it is http://www.rootsweb.com/~arnewton/index.htm The historical society in Newton Co has not yet gone online. However on the website is the address for the Historical Society. Diana, that works there, is a native resident and is very helpful in research. My interests in Newton Co. are my husbands family. His lines in Newton Co are Hudson, Adair, Holt, Johnson (Johnston), & Briscoe. I will post these lines to the list in a few days. Thank you and enjoy! Kathy
Need to know if anyone has the ability to look up the Newton co census for 1850-60-70 to see if there is an Eli Kitchens and his wife "Sally" (Sarah). I need to know if they had any children, and if they did the anmes and ages of those children. Thank you for any help you can give with this. At the moment I am in a traction device infront of my computer and it severly limits my ability to go do things for myself. I do have Lawrence co., Ar marriages from 1821-1920 and will do lookups for anyone who wants me to. Thanks, Dale
