I am desperately seeking any information on Andrew Jackson Birdwell that supposedly died in Compton sometime between 1887 - 1899. From what I have been told he was buried in the Taylor Brown Cemetery, Buffalo, Boone County. Three of Andrew's children married into the Edgmon family. His daughter Harriet married Thomas Bird Edgmon. If anyone has any information on these two families, please let me know. Andrew is a brickwall for me. Thanks in advance for your help. Tassy Guenther
hello, I just joined this list. I am researching a relative who died in April 1987. According to the SSDI, Edmond VIRONET was born in 1911, and died in Jasper AR, in 4/1987. I suspect that Edmond was a relative of mine, since the VIRONET surname is very rare in America, and all VIRONETs in America are descendants of a family from Jumet Belgium. My great grandfather was John VIRONET, who became "John VERONA" in America, since he only spoke French, and his name was mistranslated to John VERONA, i.e., VIRONET is pronounced like "VERONAY". I would like to know if anyone on this list knew Edmond or his wife Wilma VIRONET (died 12/1995), and if there are any living VIRONETs in Newton AR. Thanks, Matt Verona/Vironet Sugar Land, TEXAS

Cora, I have Clark's who came from MO to AR. I do not know for sure that they came into Newton Co. I have had a hint that they might have. Here is what I have, just in case. John Clark, born about 1822 in TN, wife Nancy Clark born about 1832 in KY daughter Martha Clark born 1865 in MO, married John Meeks, had two children: John Jr and Hettie. Nancy was a widow with three children when she married John about 1865. The children are Francis, Larkin and Mary Simpson. Francis married a Henderson and Mary married a Young. This family came to AR from MO, probably to Carrollton Co first. The eventually go to Indian Territory, LeFlore Co OK. I do not know for sure where they were between 1865 and 1894. Thanks. Georgia

Hello all, I know we have some Allred families who came to Newton Co., but not sure if this is your line. Wanted to pass this on from the Orange Co. NC mailing list. Terri Walker I just wanted to let everyone know that the East Coast Allreds are hosting a big Allred Family Reunion in Randolph County, NC on Saturday, September 11, 1999. The reunion will be held at Grays Chapel UMC in the Fellowship Hall. Grays Chapel is located at the intersection of Old Liberty Road and HWY 22 in the northeast corner of Randolph County. This reunion is open to all Allreds, Allred descendants and everyone interested in Allred Family History! The agenda is: 10:30 Meetings and Greetings. This is your chance to see who's there and hear the latest Research Information. 12:00 Noon Covered Dish/Pot Luck Lunch. All Afternoon free to visit with all your cousins and view displays We will have a lot of displays available including copies of the original Granville Land Grants, copies of some of the original wills, Revolutionary War Veteran's Applications, and other paper work that our Allred ancestors have "left" for us to enjoy and study. There will also be family photographs, tombstone photographs, and lots of other family "stuff" to see. Sunday, September 12th, we're offering a Tour of Allred Sites in Randolph County. We will begin the tour at 9am, leaving from Grays Chapel School which is located across the road from the church. The tour should last all day and we've chosen sites that we can drive too so some of our cousins who can't hike or walk long distances can join us. Maps of the Allred sites will be available at the reunion for those who can't join us. We are planning to eat lunch at Captain Tom's Seafood Restaurant around 1 or 1:30 that day. If you aren't a fan of seafood, don't worry. I can't eat it either, I'm allergic to shell-fish. There will be other items to choose from on the menu. I hope you can join us. Please let me know if you need any more info! Linda Allred Cooper lacooper@mindspring.com

I'm looking for information on Sophornia Belle HARRIS, born about 1862 somewwhere in AR. Her parents are listed as being born in AR on the 1910 Census, however, I don't know their names. She married William Simon MYERS about 1884 and they lived in Madison County, AR later on, in the town of Marble. She died sometime between the 1910 and 1920 Census, and I don't know where she was buried. Her son Irvin Lee Myers was my grandpa.
